In an electrifying display of speed and strategy, Mitch Evans clinched his first Monaco victory, leading Jaguar TCS Racing to a spectacular one-two finish in the principality during Round 8 of the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. This milestone achievement not only marks Jaguar’s inaugural win on Monaco’s legendary street circuit but also etches a significant chapter in Formula E history with the championship’s first ever one-two finish at this venue.
On a weekend that saw Jaguar reaffirm its commitment to Formula E, extending its participation as a manufacturer through to 2030, the team’s performance was nothing short of dominant. Starting from the second row, Evans and his teammate Nick Cassidy quickly maneuvered into the leading positions after a strategic overtake at the race’s outset. Evans, who piloted the Jaguar I-TYPE 6, showcased his prowess by regaining the lead on lap 17 and maintained it against all odds, even with two safety cars extending the race duration.

Nick Cassidy, who finished a close second, not only supported the dual finish but also secured an additional point for clocking the fastest lap, further cementing the team’s success on race day. This result propelled Jaguar TCS Racing to a formidable 44-point lead in the Teams’ World Championship, with Cassidy rising to second and Evans to fifth in the Drivers’ standings.
James Barclay, Team Principal at Jaguar TCS Racing, expressed immense pride in the team’s historic performance. “The synergy and strategy displayed by our team and drivers were exemplary, enabling us to make a mark in the annals of Monaco racing and Jaguar’s storied history,” he stated.
Evans dedicated his landmark win to Colin Giltrap, his longtime supporter, reflecting on the personal significance of the victory. “Winning in Monaco, a place where I’ve seen great success but not stood at the top till now, feels incredibly special. It’s a testament to the unwavering support I’ve received throughout my career,” he remarked.
As Jaguar TCS Racing gears up for the next rounds in Berlin, the team carries forward a wave of momentum and a clear focus on maintaining their lead in the championship.
This victory in Monaco does not just represent a race won but underscores Jaguar TCS Racing’s resilience and commitment to excellence in the fast-evolving arena of electric motorsports.
