Pretoria, South Africa – 14 July 2025: In one of the most remarkable drives in ABB FIA Formula E history, Jaguar TCS Racing’s Nick Cassidy delivered an extraordinary performance to win Round 14 of the 2024/25 season, charging from 20th on the grid to take the chequered flag at the Tempelhof Airport Circuit in Berlin.
The sensational result marked Jaguar TCS Racing’s second consecutive win of the Berlin E-Prix weekend, cementing the British team’s dominance in the German capital and celebrating its 20th Formula E victory — a milestone that places Jaguar second on the all-time list of team wins in the all-electric championship.
Cassidy, who also set the fastest lap of the race, executed a strategic masterclass in energy management and overtaking, moving steadily through the pack before striking decisively in the closing stages. The Kiwi’s triumph — his second of the season and fourth for Jaguar — also marked his ninth career win in Formula E and elevated him to fourth in the Drivers’ World Championship standings.
“What a great race!” said Cassidy. “After another difficult qualifying it looked tough starting from the back, but we knew if we executed well, we had a quick car today. So I’m really proud of myself and the team – win number three in three years for me in Berlin!”
Team-mate Mitch Evans delivered a formidable drive of his own, rising from ninth on the grid to finish a hard-fought fifth. At one stage running as high as second, Evans narrowly missed out on a podium by just over two seconds, yet his consistency across the double-header weekend — including pole position and a win in Round 13 — gave Jaguar invaluable points heading into the final leg of the season.
“Today’s race was difficult given the pack racing style of the track in Berlin,” Evans reflected. “But I feel we got everything we could from where we started. A really strong weekend for us as a team with a win each for me and Nick – so we’re looking forward to our home race in London to finish the season.”
A Weekend to Remember
Berlin’s notoriously abrasive surface, coupled with changing weather conditions across practice and qualifying, made the double-header especially challenging. After wet conditions during FP3, both Jaguar drivers were compromised in qualifying, with their wet setups limiting lap time on a drying track. As a result, neither Cassidy nor Evans made it into the qualifying Duels, and they lined up 20th and 9th respectively.
But adversity turned to opportunity in the race. With two safety car periods compressing the field, and both Jaguar drivers still holding their Attack Mode activations heading into the final 15 laps, a calculated push saw them leap into contention. Evans made his presence felt at the front, while Cassidy bided his time before launching an aggressive late charge — seizing his Attack Mode on laps 31 and 35 and storming to the lead.
Cassidy ultimately crossed the line 1.5 seconds clear of Andretti’s Jake Dennis, completing one of the most astonishing comeback victories in Formula E history.
Championship Surge
Thanks to their Berlin heroics, Jaguar TCS Racing amassed a remarkable 71 points from the weekend. The team has now climbed to fourth in the Teams’ World Championship, just six points adrift of the top three. In the Manufacturers’ standings, Jaguar has consolidated third position.
“An incredible weekend for the team here in Germany – two wins in Berlin is really special and will live long in the memory,” said James Barclay, Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal. “Everyone at Jaguar TCS Racing should be proud of their efforts. We showed that no matter the challenge, we were up to the task.”
“Everyone knows that a driver of Nick’s class can never be written off, even from P20. He and the team delivered a strategic masterclass, before making a decisive move in the closing stages to take a fantastic victory – our 20th in Formula E, which we’ll remember for some time.”
“Mitch fought at the front and was unlucky not to claim another podium. He had a really impressive weekend and we’re incredibly motivated going into our home race in London.”

Eyes on London
As the 2024/25 season nears its finale, Jaguar TCS Racing heads to London with momentum firmly on its side. With both drivers in top form and the team riding high on a record-breaking Berlin performance, the final two rounds on home soil promise to be a thrilling climax to a season filled with resilience, strategy, and electrifying speed.
