Enviro Automotive, a key player in South Africa’s electric vehicle (EV) sector, is making significant strides in expanding its market presence by forging strategic partnerships. As a leading importer and distributor of battery electric vehicles (BEVs), Enviro Automotive is dedicated to offering prospective EV buyers a more comprehensive and accessible approach to affordable EV ownership. This commitment is evident through its latest initiatives aimed at expanding its reach and enhancing customer experience across the nation.
Enviro Automotive, the official importer of renowned EV brands such as DFSK, Dayun, and SRM, has recently announced a strategic distribution partnership with WilGin Holdings. WilGin, the local distributor for DFSK ICE vehicles and JMC (Jiangling Motors Corporation Limited) products and parts, will now extend its services to include Enviro Automotive’s three EV brands. This collaboration will enable Enviro Automotive to leverage WilGin’s extensive network of 18 dealers nationwide, ensuring comprehensive after-sales service and support for customers.
Since the launch of DFSK’s EC35 EV panel van and EC31 EV 1-tonne forward-cab bakkie in 2022, Enviro Automotive has witnessed significant market traction. The EC35 EV panel vans, available in two- and four-seater configurations, along with the versatile EC31 EV bakkie, have quickly become popular choices among local consumers seeking reliable and eco-friendly transportation solutions.
To maintain its commitment to customer satisfaction, Enviro Automotive has introduced specialized auto-electrical training programs. These initiatives are designed to equip technicians with the skills necessary to diagnose and repair new-generation EVs. As the shift towards EVs accelerates, driven by growing awareness of their environmental and economic benefits, this training becomes increasingly vital.
Earlier this year, Enviro Automotive further solidified its commitment to quality service by partnering with various Bosch Service Stations. Through this collaboration, technician training programs were launched to enhance their expertise in working with BEVs. The success of these training sessions in Cape Town and Mbombela has paved the way for a nationwide rollout, ensuring that technicians across South Africa are well-prepared to service Enviro Automotive’s growing EV lineup.
In addition to these training initiatives, Enviro Automotive is actively pursuing licensing agreements with automotive dealer groups and privately owned dealerships. The company is also exploring partnerships with fleet management companies to broaden the availability of its affordable, eco-friendly EVs across the country. By leveraging a multi-franchise dealer approach and utilizing existing dealership networks, Enviro Automotive aims to maintain competitive pricing while expanding its market reach.

“We are excited about our growing local distribution and service agreements,” says Gawie Brink, Technical Director of Enviro Automotive. “These partnerships will support our mission to assist organizations and the car-buying public in transitioning to sustainable green energy solutions, enabling them to reduce their carbon footprint while also saving money in the process.”
Looking ahead, Enviro Automotive is set to further expand its EV lineup with the upcoming launch of the DFSK EC75 EV panel van in the last quarter of 2024. The EC75 EV, which boasts higher specification levels than its predecessor, the EC35 EV, is powered by a 70 kW synchronous electric motor and a 50.38 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery, offering a range of over 300 kilometers. This addition is expected to significantly boost Enviro Automotive’s sales, providing transport operators with a broader selection of EV panel vans to meet their specific needs.
Brink highlights the importance of this launch, stating, “The addition of the DFSK EC75 EV will enable transport operators to choose the right product for the job as they start recognizing the substantial advantages EV products bring to their operations.”
Enviro Automotive’s upcoming launches, including the Dayun Yuehu S5 Mini SUV and the SRM T3 EV 1.6-tonne workhorse, further cement the company’s position as a leader in the South African battery-electric vehicle market.
“Our partnerships with WilGin Holdings and Bosch Car Service Centres are key to accelerating the adoption of affordable battery-electric vehicles across South Africa,” adds Gideon Wolvaardt, Managing Director of Enviro Automotive. “Expanding into new markets through partnerships and licensing agreements helps us make affordable EV ownership more appealing to South Africans while ensuring excellent customer support nationwide.”
With its strategic partnerships, innovative training programs, and expanding EV lineup, Enviro Automotive is well on its way to revolutionizing South Africa’s automotive landscape, driving the transition to a greener, more sustainable future.
