Chinese automotive giant BYD has confirmed that its flagship Ti7 SUV will officially launch in the UK, bringing a bold blend of seven-seat practicality, rugged styling and high-performance plug-in hybrid technology to the market.
Already a strong seller in global markets, the Ti7 becomes the largest and most versatile model in BYD’s UK line-up to date. Designed to appeal to larger families and buyers with active lifestyles, the SUV combines commanding road presence with the company’s latest Dual Mode Performance hybrid system.
The Ti7 cuts an imposing figure thanks to its substantial dimensions, measuring 5,146mm long, 1,995mm wide and 1,865mm tall. Its squared-off proportions and upright stance lean heavily into rugged SUV design, while still maintaining an upscale and modern aesthetic.
At the front, the SUV features a distinctive dual-layer LED lighting signature paired with a prominent lower bumper finished in contrasting titanium trim. The aggressive front-end treatment gives the Ti7 a purposeful identity that aligns with its flagship positioning.
The muscular appearance continues along the sides, where chunky wheel arch extensions, a pronounced shoulder line and a near-vertical rear profile reinforce its robust character. Despite the bold exterior styling, the Ti7 has been designed with practicality in mind, offering three rows of seating and generous interior space for passengers and luggage alike.
Inside, BYD has focused on combining premium finishes with everyday usability. While full cabin specifications for the UK market are yet to be detailed, the Ti7 is expected to continue the brand’s push toward more refined interiors and technology-rich experiences.
Powering the Ti7 is BYD’s advanced DM-p plug-in hybrid system, which combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with twin electric motors driving all four wheels. The setup delivers impressive performance figures for a vehicle of this size, enabling a 0-62mph sprint in just 4.8 seconds.
Efficiency remains a key part of the package. BYD claims the Ti7 can achieve an electric-only combined WLTP range of up to 79 miles, allowing many daily journeys to be completed without using the petrol engine at all.
The introduction of the Ti7 highlights BYD’s continued expansion across Europe as the company strengthens its presence beyond fully electric vehicles and into the increasingly competitive plug-in hybrid segment. With demand growing for large SUVs that balance performance, efficiency and practicality, the Ti7 is positioned to challenge established rivals in the premium family SUV market.
BYD says further information regarding UK pricing, trim levels and specifications will be announced in the coming weeks.
