Spa-Francorchamps, 28 June 2025 – Maserati delivered a standout performance at the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps during the third round of the 2025 GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli. With class wins, double podiums, and a historic tribute to its racing past, the Trident marque proved its competitive edge and enduring spirit on one of motorsport’s most iconic stages.
Class Win and Dual Podiums Underscore Maserati’s GT2 Prowess
In Race 1, Maserati GT2s wasted no time asserting themselves. Starting from pole, Philippe Prette, driving the No. 1 LP Racing entry, clinched a commanding victory in the Am Cup class, showcasing both skill and strategy as he navigated a rain-slicked track. The reigning Am Cup champion maintained his cool in challenging conditions, staying clear of incidents and managing his tyres to perfection.
The Dinamic Motorsport pairing of Mauro Calamia and Roberto Pampanini also left their mark, finishing second overall and taking runner-up honours in the Pro-Am Cup. After a strong start from the second row, they capitalised on a post-pit-stop penalty handed to their rivals, closing the gap to just three seconds from the lead.
Saturday’s Race 2 brought another strong showing. Calamia and Pampanini once again delivered a composed and competitive drive, securing third place overall and in the Pro-Am Cup. Their consistency across both races reinforces Dinamic Motorsport’s growing presence in the Pro-Am class.
While Prette’s fortunes dipped slightly in the second race due to a right rear tyre issue, he still finished fourth in the Am Cup, preserving his lead in the overall Am Cup standings and reaffirming his status as a championship favourite.

The Trident Leads on and off the Track
Maserati’s presence wasn’t confined to race results alone. The marque’s MCXtrema hypercar, decked in a striking celebratory livery, led the field throughout the weekend as the official Leading Car, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the MC12’s maiden victory at the 24 Hours of Spa.
As part of its broader partnership with SRO Motorsports Group, Maserati also provided the entire range of support vehicles, including Safety Cars, Leading Cars and Medical Cars – further cementing its integral role at one of endurance racing’s crown jewel events.
A Word from Maserati Corse
Maria Conti, Head of Maserati Corse, expressed her pride and excitement following the weekend’s success:
“The weekend at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa was simply extraordinary! The Maserati GT2s shone with victories and podium placings in the GT2 European Series, whereas our MCXtrema took the limelight by leading the pack throughout the event, perfectly embodying the spirit of the Trident.
On the sporting front, the results speak for themselves: a first place in the Am class and a second and third place in Pro-Am confirm our leadership and the excellence of our cars.
But the true thrill was to see the MCXtrema as the Leading Car on the legendary Spa track, celebrating 20 years since the historic victory of the MC12. It was an iconic moment, uniting past and future and propelling us with enthusiasm towards our first centenary in motorsport. We couldn’t be prouder!”
Looking Ahead to Misano
With momentum firmly on their side, Maserati and its customer teams now look forward to round four of the GT2 European Series, set to take place at Misano from 18–20 July. As the brand’s home race, expectations will be high—and if Spa is any indication, the Trident is ready to deliver another masterclass on Italian soil.
