The all-new KGM Musso EV arrives at a moment when the commercial vehicle sector is rapidly recalibrating its expectations of capability, cost, and electrification. Making its headline appearance at the Commercial Vehicle Show at NEC Birmingham from 21–23 April 2026, the Musso EV signals KGM Motors UK’s most decisive step yet into the electrified working vehicle space, blending the familiar toughness of a pick-up with the efficiency profile of a modern EV.
Now priced at £39,995 including VAT, the Musso EV enters the market with a sharpened financial proposition that is difficult to ignore. Its recent eligibility for the full £5,000 Plug-in Van Grant immediately lowers the entry barrier for both retail buyers and fleet operators, while its classification for a 4% Benefit-in-Kind rate for the 2026/27 tax year reframes it as one of the most cost-efficient company vehicles available in the UK. For many users, this translates into a personal tax cost starting from roughly £30 per month, a figure that positions the vehicle not just as an alternative to diesel pick-ups, but as a potential replacement in many operational scenarios.
On KGM’s stand 5C30 in Hall 5, visitors will see the Musso EV presented alongside the brand’s established commercial line-up, including the award-winning Musso Saracen and the Rexton Commercial Vehicle. This dual showcase highlights a transitional strategy: proven internal combustion capability for operators who still require it, and a fully electric solution for those ready to shift towards lower running costs and reduced emissions.
The Musso EV itself is built to challenge assumptions about what an electric pick-up can deliver in real-world use. At its core sits an 80.6kWh BYD LFP battery pack, engineered to support both durability and efficiency under commercial conditions. It delivers a driving range of up to 240 miles, with rapid charging capability allowing a 20% to 80% recharge in approximately 31 minutes, ensuring minimal downtime between jobs or site visits.
Despite its electrified drivetrain, the Musso EV does not compromise on working strength. It offers a 690kg payload and a 2.3-tonne towing capacity, supported by load-sensitive and self-levelling rear suspension designed to maintain stability under varying loads. A full-time all-wheel drive system ensures traction across mixed terrain, while 207PS and 339Nm of torque provide the kind of immediate, controlled performance that suits both urban logistics and rural working environments.
Beyond specification sheets, the Musso EV reflects a broader shift in how commercial vehicles are being evaluated. Total cost of ownership, tax efficiency, and charging practicality are now as influential as raw durability. KGM’s positioning of the Musso EV directly targets this intersection, where operational logic meets policy-driven incentives.
Kevin Griffin, Managing Director at KGM Motors UK, emphasises this balance, noting that the Commercial Vehicle Show provides the ideal platform to introduce a vehicle that merges genuine capability with electrified efficiency. The addition of government support through the Plug-in Van Grant further strengthens its case, especially for businesses under pressure to decarbonise without sacrificing utility.
With order books now open and first demonstrator units expected to reach dealers in May, the Musso EV enters the market at a critical inflection point. It is not simply an addition to KGM’s range, but a statement of intent, signalling how the brand intends to evolve in a commercial landscape increasingly defined by electrification, regulation, and cost discipline.
