Indianapolis, IN – 20 October 2025 – The unmistakable sound of Italian performance thundered through the Indianapolis Motor Speedway last week as Maserati Corse brought its legendary racing spirit to American soil. Taking center stage during the season finale of GT America powered by AWS, the Trident Brand made a triumphant statement – celebrating its illustrious past while accelerating toward an electrifying motorsport future.
The event marked the U.S. debut of the Maserati GT2 Race Car, a track-bred machine that embodies the pinnacle of the marque’s motorsport DNA. Fresh from a championship-winning campaign in the Fanatec GT2 European Series, the GT2 arrived at Indianapolis adorned in a special tribute livery inspired by the storied Maserati 8CTF — the car that famously conquered the Indianapolis 500 in both 1939 and 1940 with driver Warren Wilbur Shaw at the wheel.
That connection to the Speedway runs deep. From the amaranth red hues of the victorious 8CTF to the carbon fiber bodywork of the modern GT2, Maserati’s return to the Brickyard served as both a nod to history and a vision of innovation.
A New Era for Maserati Corse
Now type-certified and undergoing U.S. homologation, the Maserati GT2 is poised to join American racing grids as early as 2026. Eligible for more than 20 championships globally – including GT America – the GT2 reaffirms Maserati’s commitment to motorsport as a core pillar of its brand identity.
Powered by an advanced version of the Nettuno twin-turbo V6, the GT2 pairs extraordinary aerodynamics with the craftsmanship and flair synonymous with Modena’s finest. Designed purely for competition, the car represents the rebirth of Maserati’s track ambitions, uniting performance, precision, and Italian artistry.

Maserati at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Beyond the paddock, Maserati captivated fans, media, and owners with a vibrant brand experience in the Fan Zone, showcasing the full spectrum of the marque’s passion for performance:
- Maserati GT2 – The non-road-homologated race car crafted for elite GT2-class competition, blending engineering excellence and race-ready aggression.
- Maserati GT2 Stradale (MCPURA) – A barely road-legal evolution of the GT2, this super sports car channels the DNA of Maserati’s halo model, the MC20, delivering an experience where motorsport meets refined luxury.
- Maserati MCXtrema – The ultimate expression of Trident power. Limited to just 62 units, the MCXtrema boasts an extreme 730-hp Nettuno V6 and a commanding design inspired by the iconic MC12, finished in a striking matte blue-and-white “Corse” livery.
Throughout the weekend, visitors were treated to immersive owner experiences, from the Maserati Car Corral – where enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the brand’s enduring allure – to exclusive Parade Laps led by the new 2026 GranTurismo Trofeo Coupe, a symbol of Maserati’s grand touring heritage reborn.
Adding to the spectacle, MCXtrema Hot Laps delivered heart-pounding moments as select guests experienced the raw ferocity of Maserati’s most extreme track creation on the world’s most famous oval circuit.
From Track to Road: The Spirit of the Trident

From the everyday exceptional Grecale SUV to the electrified GranTurismo Folgore and the pinnacle MC family, Maserati continues to bridge past and future – where craftsmanship meets cutting-edge innovation.
Across its portfolio, the brand’s blend of artistry, technology, and exclusivity remains unmistakably Italian. Whether on the asphalt of Indianapolis or the open roads of Modena, Maserati continues to define what it means to drive with passion, precision, and purpose.
