BMW Group UK has closed 2025 on a high note, reporting a total of 170,051 vehicle registrations, demonstrating resilience in a competitive and evolving automotive market. The BMW brand maintained its position as the UK’s leading premium automotive marque with 122,723 registrations, while MINI continued its steady momentum, recording 47,328 units sold, nearly a third of which were fully electric.
The year highlighted the group’s ongoing shift toward electrification, with 47,845 battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) sold, representing 28.1 per cent of total UK volume. Plug-in hybrid models also gained traction, growing 27.4 per cent, with standout performers including the BMW XM.
Luxury and performance models also continued to shine. The BMW 7 Series and BMW i7 strengthened their appeal in the premium segment, favored by chauffeurs and professional drivers, with i7 registrations up 54.4 per cent to 959 vehicles. BMW M models continued their dominance, with 15,746 registrations, reflecting strong demand across both M Performance and High Performance variants.

The X1 and X2 also recorded gains, underlining the brand’s continued popularity across multiple segments.
MINI’s revitalised model lineup and electrification strategy contributed to a standout year. Fully electric sales rose to 31.7 per cent of total MINI registrations, up from 22 per cent in 2024. The MINI Aceman, in its first full year, contributed 5,882 units, while the MINI Cooper remained the brand’s bestseller with 24,486 registrations. Other models, including the Countryman and Convertible, demonstrated ongoing demand, with the latter up 23.2 per cent to 3,380 units.
David George, CEO of BMW Group UK and Ireland, said:
“In a challenging market environment, BMW Group has delivered a strong year, with BMW maintaining its position as the UK’s leading premium automotive brand and MINI continuing its momentum with a revitalised model range. With more than one quarter of our registrations fully electric, our focus remains on giving customers the right choice at the right time. The first Neue Klasse model, the BMW iX3, will begin customer deliveries in March, marking the start of a new generation of BMW vehicles that deliver a clear leap forward in technology, design and driving dynamics.”
David Beattie, Director of MINI UK and Ireland, added:
“2025 has been a standout year for MINI in the UK, driven by the growing demand for our fully electric models alongside the continued success of our most iconic vehicles.
