BMW Group UK is entering 2026 with momentum, announcing a series of model updates alongside multiple industry accolades that reinforce its leadership in the premium automotive segment. From March 2026, customers can expect enhanced model offerings, cutting-edge technology upgrades, and even more personalised options, while the brand’s consistent recognition in professional awards underlines its commitment to innovation, luxury, and performance.
Enhanced Range and Efficiency for BMW iX1 and iX2
From March, BMW iX1 and iX2 models will benefit from improved all-electric range thanks to the adoption of silicon-carbide semiconductor components in the power electronics (SiC inverter). This advanced technology optimises efficiency and reduces energy consumption, allowing the BMW iX1 eDrive20 to achieve up to 318 miles (WLTP) on a single charge, while the xDrive30 variant covers up to 288 miles. BMW iX2 models offer similar performance, with up to 318 miles for the eDrive20 and 294 miles for the xDrive30. These updates further strengthen BMW’s competitive edge in the growing EV market.
Introducing the M Sport Pro for 2, 3 and 4 Series Models
Spring 2026 also sees the launch of the new standalone M Sport Pro models for BMW 2, 3 and 4 Series derivatives. Previously an optional package alongside M Sport trim, the M Sport Pro now elevates standard equipment, offering 19-inch M Sport alloy wheels, red-painted brake callipers, Adaptive LED Headlights, and refined darkened exterior design features. With nationwide availability from March and first deliveries expected in April, these models bring a heightened level of style and sportiness for enthusiasts and fleet buyers alike.
A Fresh Look: Updated BMW Roundel and M Logo
From February 2026 production onwards, all BMW models will feature the new BMW roundel, first seen on the all-new BMW iX3. Alongside it, the brand’s iconic M logo has been updated, reinforcing BMW’s modern and dynamic visual identity across its portfolio.
BMW i7 Crowned at Professional Driver Car of the Year Awards
BMW UK enjoyed a landmark evening at the 2026 Professional Driver Car of the Year awards, where the BMW i7 was named overall Car of the Year. The flagship electric saloon also secured the Chauffeur Car category, while the BMW 550e xDrive earned recognition as Executive Car of the Year.
Mark Bursa, Editor of Professional Driver, commented: “The new 7-Series has become a game-changer in the chauffeur market, giving drivers and operators a practical and supremely luxurious electric limousine. In London especially, TfL insists that new licensed cars have to be electric, and the i7 is the only really suitable option.”
The awards, judged by the publication’s readership, involved intensive single-day testing of more than 50 vehicles in August, culminating in a prestigious ceremony at the Brighton Metropole Hotel.
Double Recognition at Company Car and Van Awards
BMW and MINI continued their winning streak at the 2026 Company Car and Van Awards, being named Fleet Manufacturer of the Year for the second consecutive year. The accolades reflect the brands’ forward-thinking approach and comprehensive offerings across all fleet segments.
Andrew Walker, Editor of Company Car and Van, noted: “They’ve cemented their position again as the most forward-thinking premium brands across all car sizes. A worthy winner. Every company car sector is covered from the MINI Cooper Electric to the updated BMW iX.”
Additionally, the revised BMW iX was awarded Premium Car of the Year, praised for its “amazing” drive and “class-leading” interior. Walker added: “Not one to stand still, BMW took a very good car in the iX and in 2025 made it even better, simplifying the model line-up and tweaking it to make it drive and handle even better than before.”
BMW Individual Paint: A Statement of Personalisation
BMW UK’s press fleet has been bolstered with six new BMW M5 models finished in a range of BMW Individual exterior paints. These include Saloon and Touring variants in Le-Mans Blue, Wildberry, Malachite Green, Chalk Grey, Anglesey Green, and Fashion Grey.
The BMW Individual programme allows customers to select from over 150 exclusive colours, combining heritage-inspired shades with innovative new finishes. Le-Mans Blue, for example, pays homage to BMW’s iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans victory in 1999, linking the present-day M5 with the legendary E39 model from BMW UK’s heritage collection.
Looking Ahead
With these updates and accolades, BMW Group UK has started 2026 on a high note. From extended electric ranges and enhanced M Sport Pro options to award-winning vehicles and bespoke personalisation, BMW continues to strengthen its reputation for innovation, performance, and luxury across all segments.
