Hannover, 15 January 2026.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles ended 2025 with a year defined less by sheer volume and more by strategic momentum. Despite ongoing pressure in global markets, the brand delivered 393,700 vehicles worldwide, rising to 401,000 when North American ID. Buzz deliveries are included. Behind the headline numbers sits a story of transformation, one driven by electrification, renewed product strength and a portfolio that continues to broaden its appeal across private and commercial customers alike.
At the heart of this progress is a clear shift towards electric mobility. In 2025, VWCV doubled its global battery-electric deliveries to 65,900 vehicles, pushing the BEV share to 16.4 percent. Few commercial vehicle manufacturers can claim such rapid growth while simultaneously maintaining relevance across combustion, plug-in hybrid and fully electric drivetrains.
ID. Buzz: from icon to global growth engine
No vehicle embodies this transition better than the ID. Buzz. What began as a design statement has matured into a genuine volume driver. Global deliveries surged by 102 percent year-on-year to 60,700 units, confirming the ID. Buzz as the leading electric transporter in the European B-segment.
Commercial customers continue to play a decisive role, with around 46 percent of all deliveries accounted for by Cargo versions. This balance between lifestyle appeal and professional usability has proven crucial, and VWCV is already preparing to deepen it. In 2026, the range will expand further with the introduction of a long-wheelbase ID. Buzz Cargo, opening new possibilities for logistics and fleet operators.
Growth has not been limited to Europe. Despite challenging market conditions and slower-than-expected EV uptake, North America recorded 7,300 ID. Buzz deliveries in 2025, lifting the model beyond niche status and reinforcing its global relevance.
Multivan records the strongest year in its history
While the ID. Buzz captures attention, the Multivan quietly delivered its best performance ever. With 38,700 units delivered, up 31 percent year-on-year, 2025 marked a record chapter for the Hannover-built space specialist.
The Multivan continues to define what modern versatility looks like, blending comfort, flexibility and technology in a way few competitors manage. On the same technical platform, a further 14,200 California models were delivered, underlining the enduring appeal of mobile freedom and leisure-oriented transport.
Looking ahead, the Multivan story is far from complete. Updates planned for 2026 include a comprehensively modernised cockpit, refreshed design and new-generation drivetrains, reinforcing its position as a benchmark for both family and business users.
Transporter returns with breadth and ambition
The third pillar of the Bulli trio, the new Transporter, entered additional markets in 2025 and achieved a solid 71,200 deliveries. While still in the early stages of its lifecycle, the model is already laying the groundwork for broader success.
From 2026, customers will be offered an unprecedented range of configurations: 13 body variants, including the legendary double-cab, and eleven powertrain options spanning conventional engines, plug-in hybrids and fully electric all-wheel-drive versions. With cargo volumes of up to nine cubic metres, payloads of 1.33 tons and towing capacities reaching 2.3 tons, the Transporter is positioning itself as a true multi-tool for modern mobility.
Caddy and Crafter maintain steady growth
Consistency remains a strength for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, particularly in its Polish-built models. The Caddy once again comfortably surpassed the 100,000-unit mark, reaching 110,400 deliveries in 2025. Now available as a plug-in hybrid, it bridges the gap between urban delivery van and family vehicle, offering electric-only driving for everyday use without sacrificing long-distance flexibility.
The Crafter continued its upward trajectory, growing to 73,000 deliveries. December 2025 marked a symbolic milestone with the laying of the foundation stone for expanded production of the next-generation e-Crafter at the Września plant. This investment secures the Crafter’s role within VWCV’s fully electric future and completes an increasingly comprehensive zero-emissions portfolio.
Amarok navigates a difficult transition
Not every chapter of 2025 was defined by growth. Amarok deliveries fell to 31,100 units, largely due to the phase-out of the first-generation model in South America. Deliveries in that region dropped sharply as production wound down, ahead of work on a successor led by Volkswagen Passenger Cars.
Even so, the Amarok story continues to evolve. The introduction of the Amarok Dark Label in selected markets towards the end of the year adds a distinctive, design-led option to the line-up, drawing on the loyal fan base established by earlier generations.
A portfolio in motion
“2025 brought many challenges but also real highlights for us,” said Lars Krause, Member of the Board of Management for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Record Multivan deliveries, continued ID. Buzz growth and renewed strength from Caddy and Crafter underline a brand that is adapting without losing its identity.
As 2026 approaches, the focus sharpens further. New derivatives, expanded digital services and continued electrification are set to define the next phase. The numbers tell a compelling story, but more importantly, they hint at a brand confidently reshaping commercial mobility for a world in transition
