The Volkswagen Caddy has received a comprehensive update, bringing a fresh design, enhanced technology and greater convenience to one of the brand’s most versatile models. Popular with families, small businesses and fleet operators alike, the latest Caddy introduces a more refined interior, updated exterior styling and a broader range of digital services aimed at improving everyday usability.
At first glance, the refreshed Caddy stands out with a redesigned front apron, new wheel designs and an expanded colour palette. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has introduced four new metallic paint finishes comprising Reed Green, Sunset Red, Grenadilla Black and Grey-Brown. New alloy wheel options ranging from 16 to 18 inches further modernise the vehicle’s appearance, helping the practical van and people mover maintain a contemporary presence on the road.
The most significant changes are found inside the cabin. Dominating the dashboard is a new free-standing 12.9-inch infotainment display, which provides a larger and more intuitive interface for accessing vehicle functions and applications. Customisable touch controls allow drivers to tailor shortcuts to frequently used features, improving day-to-day convenience.
Volkswagen has also focused on enhancing usability throughout the cabin. Illuminated touch sliders for climate control adjustment make temperature settings easier to manage in low-light conditions, while the Digital Cockpit Pro now comes standard across the entire range. Wireless smartphone charging has been upgraded with a 25W inductive charging tray, and front USB-C ports now support charging outputs of up to 60W per socket. An additional standard USB-C port delivering up to 45W replaces the previously optional 12V outlet on the dashboard.
New seat upholstery designs and decorative trim elements provide a more modern interior atmosphere, while practical additions continue to reinforce the Caddy’s reputation as a versatile companion. Passenger and Flexible variants now feature grab straps on all B-pillars to assist entry and exit, while integrated clothing hooks help keep the rear passenger area organised.
Flexibility remains one of the Caddy’s greatest strengths. The model range continues to offer Cargo and passenger versions in both standard and Maxi wheelbase configurations. Buyers can choose from Trend, Life and Style trim levels, along with specialised variants such as the California micro camper, the Flexible model and purpose-built passenger transport conversions.
Powertrain options include petrol, diesel and eHybrid systems. The plug-in hybrid model offers a combined driving range of more than 620km while enabling up to 122km of all-electric driving under suitable conditions. This makes the eHybrid an appealing option for urban users seeking lower fuel consumption without sacrificing long-distance capability.
Practicality remains a core selling point. Depending on specification, the Caddy can accommodate up to seven occupants, while the Flexible variant features a second row of seats that folds upright to create a partition wall between passengers and cargo. Generous luggage and load capacities further enhance its usability, and selected models can tow trailers weighing up to 1,500kg.
The Caddy California continues to serve customers looking for compact adventure vehicles. Despite its manageable dimensions, the micro camper includes factory-fitted camping equipment designed to maximise comfort and functionality. Features such as dished spring mattress supports, an optional panoramic glass roof and an available rear kitchenette create a practical mobile living space without compromising everyday usability.
Beyond the vehicle itself, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is strengthening its focus on connected mobility. Fleet operators can access vehicle information, service alerts and maintenance requirements through Connect Pro, while Fleet Interface allows seamless integration of vehicle data into existing fleet management systems via an API. Business customers can also utilise myVolkswagen Business to configure vehicles, track orders and identify suitable replacement models.
To mark the launch, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is introducing the Caddy Generation special-edition model. Based on the Life specification, it includes a collection of desirable equipment packages, including Design, Winter and Assist System packages, as well as roof rails and a rear-view camera system. The special edition can be paired with any available engine and transmission combination.
The updated Caddy is now available for order in Germany and, like other models in the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles range, is backed by a manufacturer warranty of up to five years. With its blend of advanced technology, improved practicality and broad model diversity, the latest Caddy aims to remain a compelling choice for both work and family life.
