At Via Pietro Verri 10, the spiritual home of the LARUSMIANI brand and an anchor point of Milanese style, visitors are stepping into a unique fusion of fashion, design, and motorsport heritage. Maserati’s appearance at the boutique is no ordinary brand showcase—it is the Avant Première of FuoriConcorso, the prestigious automotive culture event set to take place at Lake Como’s Villa del Grumello and Villa Sucota on 24–25 May.
And it’s a jewel from 1956 that takes centre stage.
A Racing Relic Reborn
The Maserati 200S on display is a masterpiece in motion, even at rest. This vivid red prototype, one of the earliest racing cars built by the House of the Trident between 1955 and 1957, epitomises the Modenese marque’s mid-century racing pedigree. With elegant sports bodywork designed by Fiandri and a no-nonsense inline four-cylinder engine under the bonnet, it was capable of pushing out 190 CV at 7,400 rpm. Dual Weber 45 DCO3 carburettors fed its 1,993cc heart, an engineering evolution born from the Maserati 150S.
Originally driven by names like Gilberto Cornacchia and Mennato Boffa, the car competed until 1960 before being retired from racing. From then, it spent decades sheltered within Maserati’s own facilities—until 1999, when it changed hands and underwent a meticulous restoration, returning the car to its original, evocative condition.
