Cirencester, UK – 28 July 2025 – Skywell UK has stepped in to reassure prospective EV buyers with the announcement of a new £3,750 electric vehicle incentive, designed to offset mounting uncertainty around the UK Government’s delayed Electric Car Grant rollout. This customer-first initiative brings the starting price of the Skywell BE11 range to an attractive £27,245 — a bold move in the face of evolving government criteria.
The newly introduced Electric Car Grant aims to support the UK’s zero-emission goals via a tiered structure based on the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). However, the grant’s eligibility requirements — including pricing under £37,000 and stricter documentation around sustainable production practices — have resulted in prolonged ambiguity for automakers and retailers alike.
David Clark, General Manager of Skywell UK, underlined the urgency of providing consumers with clarity and value:
“A number of caveats and requirements have been set by the Government before any vehicle is approved onto the new scheme, which has left manufacturers, dealers and customers in limbo. Consumers need confidence and definitive answers, and we should not subject them to further delays.”
With the BE11 72kWh Standard Range priced at £36,995, Skywell anticipates eventual qualification for the Electric Car Grant. But until the bureaucratic hurdles are cleared, the brand — backed by Chinese tech giant Skyworth Group — is taking matters into its own hands.

Rosy He, Sales Director for Skyworth, travelled to the UK this week to reinforce the brand’s commitment to the market:
“We have seen the UK Government apply automotive incentives previously to great effect. The ‘Scrappage Scheme’ and ‘Plug-In Car Grant’ worked well to boost the economy and support electrification. However, the new Electric Car Grant presents barriers that may delay Skywell’s participation. In response, Skyworth Group is proud to offer its own £3,750 EV incentive for UK customers.”
Skyworth Group, known globally for its innovation in electronics, smart home devices, and energy storage systems via its Skysource division, brings significant weight to the Skywell brand. This level of corporate backing has already helped establish the BE11 as a strong player in overseas markets, appreciated for its blend of practicality, size, and affordability.
Until 30 September 2025, UK retail buyers of the Skywell BE11 will benefit not only from the £3,750 EV incentive but also from an existing £6,000 dealer finance deposit contribution. The combined offer effectively positions the BE11 Standard Range at £27,245 — firmly in the realm of compact hatchbacks — while the BE11 Long Range, featuring an 86kWh battery and up to 304 miles (WLTP) of range, now starts at just £30,245.
Miss He concluded:
“We believe the BE11 presents one of the best value-for-money electric SUVs in the UK. This offer ensures both BE11 models are available without restriction — unlike the Government scheme — and reinforces our support for British customers making the switch to zero-emissions motoring.”
As the UK EV landscape navigates a complex policy environment, Skywell’s proactive approach offers clarity, value, and a welcome boost for those ready to go electric today.
