LONDON, 6 NOVEMBER 2025 – Collecting Cars’ Sealed Bids, the discreet online auction platform for blue-chip collector cars, opens its November edition today, offering a lineup of vehicles so rare, their sale prices are a closely guarded secret. For seven days, until Thursday 13 November, enthusiasts and collectors worldwide can bid on some of the most historically significant and collectible cars ever produced, all from the comfort of their own devices.
Porsche’s Racing and Prototype Legends Lead the Line-Up
At the forefront of this month’s auction is a 1990 Porsche 962C Group C race car, chassis 962-163, one of the most original factory-built examples to ever come to market. Constructed for Brun Motorsport, it is one of just seven customer 962Cs built to the full 1988 works specification, and one of only three delivered new to the team. Never crashed or rebodied, the car retains its factory bodywork, hand-painted Repsol livery, and 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine producing approximately 700bhp. After decades in prominent private collections, it was sympathetically recommissioned in 2023 by Katana Ltd, ensuring it remains track-ready while preserving its originality.
Equally remarkable is the 1968 Porsche 911 E ‘Factory Long-Wheelbase Prototype’ (chassis 119200001). This is the first time the car is understood to have been offered publicly. Built as a prototype, it features Porsche’s first Bosch mechanical fuel-injection engine and the first magnesium crankcase for a roadgoing 911. With a full factory conversion from left-hand drive to right-hand drive, it has an exceptional provenance, having been owned by racing driver Robs Lamplough, F1 business figure Paddy McNally, and two-time Le Mans class winner Jo Siffert. After more than 25 years off the road, the car underwent a £280,000 restoration, preserving its matching-numbers engine and gearbox.
Italian Icons and Modern Supercar Rarity
Adding to the allure of Sealed Bids is a 1962 Maserati 5000 GT by Allemano, chassis 103.042, one of only 34 ever built. Commissioned by former Mexican president Adolfo López Mateos, this rare grand tourer has an extraordinary history, including service with the Mexican police, before being restored to concours-quality condition in 2024. Its original Grigio Montebello paintwork and blue Connolly leather interior have been faithfully preserved, and the engine and gearbox freshly rebuilt.
From vintage elegance to modern Italian firepower, the November auction also features a 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 finished in Rosso Scintilla. One of only 112 examples, this hybrid V12 supercar produces 803bhp and reaches 221mph, making it a collector’s dream. Recently serviced at Lamborghini Edinburgh, it has covered just 6,526 miles and represents one of the most significant contemporary Lamborghinis available.
Finally, a McLaren 675LT Spider MSO Carbon Series, one of only 25 made, rounds out the collection. Delivered new to the UAE, it features a full carbon-fibre body and has recorded a mere 23 kilometres, making it a pristine example of modern McLaren engineering with MSO provenance.
Private, Seamless, Global Access to Collectibles
Edward Lovett, founder of Collecting Cars, said: “Sealed Bids gives collectors access to some of the rarest, most significant cars in the world from anywhere – your sofa, the boardroom, or even an airport lounge. Whether it’s a factory Porsche prototype, a Group C legend, a concours-quality Maserati, or a modern McLaren with MSO provenance, the platform makes it simple to explore, bid and win. The best bit? No one will see your bid amount or the winning sum; it remains entirely private.”
The November Sealed Bids event exemplifies Collecting Cars’ commitment to redefining the collector car market. Combining transparency, global reach, and unrivalled expertise, the platform allows enthusiasts to explore, bid, and acquire vehicles with unmatched provenance and historical significance.
