Mr Nelson Mandela died in his home in Houghton Johannesburg South Africa on the 5th of December 2013. Today 6th December 2013 it is still not clear what exactly is planned for the Funeral of Mr Nelson Mandela. There is currently rumors going around on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ that the South African government and the Mandela family have been planning for his passing years before and that everything is well planned and organized.
Yet their is no news yet on the funeral plans and I want to know what the plans are for Mr. Nelson Mandela’s Funeral
However almost a day later and we still do not know exactly what is planned for Mr. Nelson Mandela’s Funeral.
Nelson Mandela is dead what happens now?
Although Nelson Mandela suffered from a long sick bed, most South African’s would agree that the death of Nelson Mandela came expected but completely unexpected. I believe that when Nelson Mandela was released from hospital many people thought that he’s health was better. I personally thought that if Mr. Nelson Mandela is going to die it is going to be in hospital, and as long as he is not in hospital he is not going to die.
Almost 24 hours after Mr Jacob Zuma, Current President of South Africa announced the passing of Mr. Nelson Mandela it is not sure what the Funeral plans for Mr. Nelson Mandela will be and I believe many people are starting to wonder – “Nelson Mandela is dead, what’s going to happen now, and what are the funeral plans for Mr. Nelson Mandela”
I personally feel that many people have had the time to start the morning process and have send their condolences to the Mandela family, it is time for the South African Government and ANC to announce the plans for Mr Nelson Mandela’s funeral. The internet, twitter, Facebook and Google+ have been buzzing all day about people sending their tributes and becoming aware of Mr. Nelson Mandela’s passing.
At the time of this article the Mandela family, the ANC and the South African government have not yet made any statement regarding the “Funeral plans for Mr. Nelson Mandela” and I believe many people around the world are asking questions about the funeral plans. I believe that the Government should have already made a statement to let people know what is going to happen now.
Since the news broke about Mr Nelson Mandela’s death many people visited his home in Houghton, Johannesburg South Africa to pay their attributes to Nelson Mandela, and his family, yet they are mostly using their own initiative and their is no clear guidance on what is going to happen now.
People are spontaneously gathering on street corners, shopping centers and at work to grieve and discuss the death of Mr. Nelson Mandela. At the moment there is quite chaos, and morning but nobody knows what is going to happens next, or at least they are not telling us!
Nelson Mandela FNB Soccer Stadium Memorial Service
It is not confirmed but I believe that there is going to be a memorial service for Mr Nelson Mandela at the FNB soccer stadium (World Cup 2010 Soccer Stadium) here in Johannesburg South Africa. Ironically the FNB Soccer stadium is one of the last places Mr Nelson Mandela appeared in public in 2010 during the world cup 2010 soccer in South Africa.
“Mr Nelson Mandela helped South Africa win the honor of hosting the 2010 World Cup in South Africa when he arrived during the selection process and turned the scales into South Africa’s favor” – I believe that the FNB Soccer Stadium is a fitting place to honor Mr Nelson Mandela and to hold a memorial service for Mr. Nelson Mandela.

What do we know so far about the Funeral Plans for Mr. Nelson Mandela so far?
Although much of it is speculation.Mr. Nelson Mandela will receive a state funeral and President Jacob Zuma have announced that the South African flag will fly at half-mast until after the funeral.
It is believed that everything will happen in the next 10 days.
Day 1 – Nelson Mandela’s body will be transported to a mortuary under police surveillance where his body will be prepared for the funeral. People of South Africa will be given the opportunity to grieve and accept that Mr Nelson Mandela have died. “Condolence books to be opened on all foreign missions, Nelson Mandela Foundation, Union Buildings, and possibly Soweto Mandela Museum” for people to have a place to visit to mourn.
Day 2 – Funeral Arrangements will be made public and foreign dedicates, presidents and royalty around the world will be briefed on funeral arrangements.
Day 3 – Opportunity for local and foreign people to visit the Nelson Mandela family to mourn and show their support for the Mandela family.
10th of December 2013 – It is believed that the memorial service for Mr Nelson Mandela will take place at the FNB Soccer Stadium (World Cup Stadium) it is believed that Mr Nelson Mandela’s body will be moved to the FNB Soccer Stadium for the Memorial Service. President Jacob Zuma will lead the Memorial service at the FNB Stadium, and that the service will also be broadcast to other World Cup Stadiums in Bloemfontein, Rustenburg, Cape Town and Durban where people will also gather for the service.
Day 6 to 9 – Former President Nelson Mandela’s body will lay in state in Pretoria for people to visit. It is believed that his body will be placed in a glass coffin for people to view.
Day 10 – Funeral at Qunu – 15 December 2013

We believe that the funeral of Mr Nelson Mandela is going to take place on the 15th of December 2013 in his hometown Qunu South Africa, where it is believed his family have already made plans for his burial.
