Spa-Francorchamps, September 12, 2025 – Maserati’s MCXtrema has made a triumphant return to the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, retracing the path it forged last July as the official Leading Car of the 2025 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. The occasion: the Maserati International Rally (MIR) 2025, an annual celebration of the Trident that unites enthusiasts from across the globe.
Over four exhilarating days—from September 10 to 13—the Belgian Ardennes became a living tribute to Maserati’s rich motorsport heritage. Around 100 models, spanning nearly a century of design and performance, roared along the region’s scenic roads, culminating in the adrenaline-fueled centerpiece: a day at Spa-Francorchamps, the “university” of motorsport.
For this occasion, the MCXtrema proudly sported the same striking livery it had worn at the 24 Hours of Spa, a design that pays homage to the legendary MC12 GT1. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the MC12’s first Spa victory in 2005, the black-and-blue livery evokes the car’s racing glory, recalling victories in 2005, 2006, and 2008 with drivers including Michael Bartels, Timo Scheider, Andrea Bertolini, Stéphane Sarrazin, and Eric van de Poele. The design features a prominent trident on the hood and a dynamic interplay of blue-on-black lettering across the doors and rear, listing iconic Maserati models, celebrated drivers, and the international circuits where the Modena-based manufacturer has triumphed.
MIR 2025: A Journey Through Maserati History
The Maserati International Rally 2025 brought enthusiasts together in Durbuy, a historic town set along the River Ourthe, famed as the world’s smallest city. Participants engaged in scenic drives, track sessions, and convivial gatherings, all steeped in the values of performance, innovation, and audacity that have defined Maserati for nearly a century. The rally’s highlight came on September 11, when the MCXtrema dominated Spa-Francorchamps, sharing the track with both historic icons and contemporary Maserati models in a breathtaking parade that showcased the brand’s storied legacy.
From the victory of the Tipo 26 at the 1926 Targa Florio with Alfieri Maserati at the wheel to the modern-day prowess of the MCXtrema, the Maserati ethos of elegance, engineering excellence, and racing DNA continues to thrive.

The Pinnacle of Maserati Performance
Maserati’s current lineup exemplifies the brand’s commitment to style, technology, and exclusivity. The Grecale SUV, the GranTurismo grand tourer, and the GranCabrio convertible combine Italian craftsmanship with advanced powertrains, including 4-cylinder hybrids and V6 petrol engines, rear- and four-wheel drive, and fully electric variants such as the GranTurismo Folgore.
At the summit of the brand’s performance portfolio sits the MC family, featuring the MCPURA coupe and MCPURA Cielo convertible, both powered by the F1-inspired V6 Neptune engine. The Maserati GT2 Stradale extends the brand’s track presence into road-legal form, while the MCXtrema—a track-only, limited-run machine of just 62 units—represents the ultimate expression of Maserati engineering for racing enthusiasts.
Maserati’s mission remains clear: to shape the future of luxury mobility while honoring its heritage. Through bespoke Fuoriserie customisation, the Classiche restoration program, and the intensive Maserati Corse racing initiatives, the brand ensures that every model delivers unmatched personality, performance, and sophistication.
A Living Legacy on Track
At MIR 2025, the MCXtrema in its commemorative MC12 livery served as a powerful reminder of Maserati’s unparalleled motorsport heritage. On the storied corners of Spa-Francorchamps, where history and modernity collide, the Trident continues to define what it means to be a true Italian sports car—bold, beautiful, and unforgettable.
