The PV5 Passenger range from Kia has been expanded with a new seven-seat configuration, a high-spec Elite grade, and a set of model year 2027 updates aimed at improving comfort, usability and everyday practicality across the line-up.
The introduction of the PV5 Passenger seven-seat marks a significant step in broadening the model’s appeal beyond standard family use into wider shared mobility and commercial applications. Designed as a versatile all-electric people mover, it caters to families, ride-hailing operators, shuttle services, airport transfers and fleet-based transport needs.
Built on the E-GMP.S flat-floor platform, the seven-seat version adopts a 2-2-3 seating layout that prioritises both flexibility and space efficiency. Rear occupants benefit from generous legroom and headroom, supported by a low 399mm step-in height and sliding doors that simplify access to the second and third rows.
Practicality is further enhanced by a configurable cargo area offering 318 litres with all seats in use, expanding to 785 litres when the third row is folded. This allows the PV5 to transition easily between passenger transport and load-carrying duties.
Interior space remains a key strength of the PV5 Passenger, with up to 1,041mm of legroom, 1,076mm of headroom and 1,732mm of shoulder room, reinforcing its positioning as one of the more spacious options in its segment.
The seven-seat model is equipped with the 71.2kWh long-range battery, delivering more than 390km of WLTP-estimated range. DC fast charging of up to 150kW enables a 10 to 80 percent recharge in under 30 minutes, supporting both private and commercial use cases.
Charging convenience is supported by a front-mounted charging port, allowing easy access in tight spaces, while Kia Charge provides access to more than 74,000 UK charge points and over one million across Europe.
All PV5 Passenger variants benefit from MY27 updates focused on everyday usability. These include a driver’s height-adjustable armrest to improve comfort during longer journeys, along with convenience features such as Walk Away Lock and packaging refinements like a flat antenna that helps keep vehicle height under 1.9 metres.
A new Elite grade now tops the PV5 Passenger range. Positioned above Essential and Plus, it introduces premium features including electric sliding doors with power latch, ventilated front seats, a surround view monitor and blind spot view monitoring, alongside upgraded interior materials and finishes.
The existing Plus grade continues to offer a strong equipment package, including features such as blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross traffic alert, heated seats and steering wheel, wireless charging, a power tailgate and vehicle-to-load functionality.
At entry level, the Essential grade remains generously equipped with items such as a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED lighting, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control and a suite of advanced safety systems, with MY27 updates adding further convenience and usability enhancements.
Inside, the PV5 Passenger is defined by its digital-focused cabin layout, featuring a 12.9-inch infotainment display and 7.5-inch driver instrument cluster. The system supports over-the-air updates and access to in-vehicle apps, reflecting the software-driven nature of Kia’s PBV strategy.
Ride comfort has also been prioritised, with improved noise insulation, reduced vibration and refined chassis tuning contributing to a smoother driving experience. A compact turning radius of 5.5 metres further enhances manoeuvrability in urban environments.
Pricing in the UK starts from £33,195 for the PV5 Passenger 5-seat Essential variant, with the Electric Car Grant applicable to selected models. The seven-seat range starts from £36,995, depending on grade.
Order books for the MY27 PV5 Passenger open on 8 June, with production scheduled for mid-July and first deliveries expected in October. All models are backed by Kia’s seven-year/100,000-mile warranty, with eight years of coverage for the high-voltage battery.
The PV5 forms part of Kia’s broader Platform Beyond Vehicle strategy, which will expand further with upcoming PV7 and PV9 models, supporting a growing ecosystem of modular, electric mobility solutions.
