The International Historic Motoring Awards (IHMA), presented by Lockton, has unveiled the shortlist for its 15th edition, spotlighting the exceptional individuals, machines, clubs, museums, media, and institutions shaping the global historic car landscape. With a record number of nominations spanning 15 categories, the IHMA continues to cement its position as a beacon of excellence within the classic and performance car community.
A Showcase of Talent and Craftsmanship
This year’s contenders reflect the finest achievements across the historic motoring spectrum. Categories range from Restoration of the Year and Bespoke Car of the Year to Personal Achievement and Digital Media, capturing the remarkable breadth of the sector. Among the standout nominations for Car of the Year are icons such as the Sunbeam 350hp ‘Blue Bird’, Mercedes-Benz W196R Stromlinienwagen, and the Alfa Romeo Tipo B (P3), with public voting open until October 24, 2025, at historicmotoringawards.co.uk.
Restorations, a cornerstone of the awards, feature masterpieces such as the Jaguar C-type by Tony Purnell / Pendine / CKL Developments and Ferrari 410 Superamerica by Paul Russell & Company, exemplifying the meticulous craftsmanship that defines the field. Meanwhile, the Bespoke Car of the Year category celebrates automotive creativity and innovation, with entries including the Rolls-Royce Corniche ‘Henry II’ by Niels van Roij Design and the R33 Stradale by Automotive Artisans.
Judging by Legends
The finalists now move to the decisive stage, where a distinguished panel of judges—including TV personalities Wayne Carini and Donald Osborne, Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance chairman Sandra Button, and Octane Japan editor Shiro Horie—will determine the winners. Their combined expertise spans decades of hands-on experience in restoration, racing, and automotive journalism, ensuring that only the most deserving recipients emerge triumphant.

A Night to Remember
The winners, alongside the recipients of the publicly voted Car of the Year and the esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award, will be revealed at a gala ceremony on November 14 at the luxurious Peninsula London hotel. Hosted by broadcaster and racing driver Amanda Stretton, the evening promises to be a highlight of the historic motoring calendar, bringing together enthusiasts, collectors, and industry leaders for a celebration of the finest in automotive achievement.
Celebrating 15 Years of Automotive Excellence
Now in its 15th year, the IHMA remains a prestigious platform for recognising excellence across the classic and collector car world.
