Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit – 25 & 26 July 2025
This weekend, the world-class Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit will be alive with the sound of motorsport mayhem as the Southern African Endurance Series Connected by Vodacom 4U roars into town for its penultimate round of the 2025 season. While the main endurance battle promises its fair share of high-octane drama, a stellar support programme ensures that fans will be treated to wall-to-wall racing action across multiple categories—each delivering its own brand of fierce competition, breathtaking speed, and nail-biting duels.

With three premier support categories—the Sports & GT/GT Cup SA, MRSSA Motorcycles, and the ever-popular SilverCup 2.0—Kyalami’s grandstands and grassy banks will be the perfect setting for motorsport lovers and thrill-seekers alike. Let’s take a closer look at what’s in store.

Sports & GT featuring GT Cup SA: Raging Bulls vs Stuttgart’s Finest

Topping the bill in the support card is the combined Sports & GT and GT Cup SA grid, boasting a full field of exotic machinery—from flame-spitting Lamborghinis to thunderous Porsche GT3 cars. At the sharp end, Damian Hammond in his Liqui Moly/Samlin Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Super Trofeo Evo is the man to beat, having taken four wins from six starts. But Hammond won’t have it easy—Xolile Letlaka, behind the wheel of his Into Africa Huracan GT3 Evo, has his sights firmly set on the top step of the podium, promising a Lamborghini showdown of epic proportions.

Add to the mix Wayne Roach in another Samlin Racing Huracan, as well as the Porsche-powered threats from Jeeva Moodley, Riaan Bouwer, and the relentless Charl Arangies—who remains unbeaten in all nine GT Cup SA rounds in his Vaal Fluid Systems Porsche 911 GT3 R. With Nicky Dicks, Henk Lategan, and Roy Obery all gunning for an upset, the GT Cup SA race is as much about pride as it is about points.

Further down the field, a hard-fought battle for third overall in the championship sees Mo Mia, Jay Jay Deysel, and Sun Moodley separated by just nine points—while newcomers like Marius Jackson and Charl Visser in the latest Type 992 911s are looking to shake up the established order.

Schedule Highlights:

  • Qualifying: Friday, 11h50
  • Race 1: Friday, 15h10
  • Race 2 & 3: Saturday, 09h00 and 11h00

MRSSA Motorcycles: Two Wheels, One Goal – Glory

The Motorcycle Racing Series South Africa (MRSSA) returns to Kyalami with a healthy dose of speed, skill, and steel nerves. With six classes on the grid, the variety is as rich as the competition is fierce.

In the Open Superbike class, Clive Turnbull has been nearly untouchable on his Yamaha YZF-R1, notching up four wins from six starts. But the BMW duo of Yaghya Sahabodien and Aadil Adam will be looking to close the gap alongside Simphiwe Mahlobo, who continues to impress on a Yamaha YZF-R6.

The Unlimited Superbike division promises a clash of titans, with Siya Tshabalala, David Veringa, and Jordan King all vying for supremacy—each with a win to their name and a point to prove.

Elsewhere, Ora Phiri dominates the 600 SBK class aboard his Yamaha R6, while the BOTTS V4 (Battle of the Twins) continues to be a Ducati showcase with Leon Horn enjoying an unbeaten season. The Masters class sees Ryan Futter and Robert Ferreira engaged in a close-fought title battle, separated by a mere two points.

Schedule Highlights:

  • Qualifying: Friday, 12h45
  • Race 1: Friday, 15h40
  • Race 2 & 3: Saturday, 09h30 and 11h30

SilverCup 2.0: Where Variety Meets Velocity

Rounding out the support card in raucous style is the SilverCup 2.0 Northern Regions Club Championship—a true celebration of grassroots racing. With a massive 49-car entry, this invitational field delivers one of the most diverse and unpredictable spectacles in South African motorsport.

From spaceframe monsters in Class A+ to classic saloons and fire-breathing rotary engines, SilverCup 2.0 is a festival of speed and style. Fan favourites Marius Jacobs and Giulio Airaga return in their wild Nissan-powered Opel Tigras, while Jacobs’ daughter Morgan adds a family flair in her VW Corrado.

The Honda Ballade versus Volkswagen Polo battle heats up in Class A, with Dirk Lawrence, Victor Dias, Rodney Kruis and Jonathan Visser all eyeing class honours. Meanwhile, Faudo Sidique leads the points in Class B, with fierce competition from Chris Cronje, Deon Schwabsky, and Marnus du Plessis in a rapid Nissan Primera.

Class C brings a VW-heavy grid to the fore, except for Cameron Foster’s classic Datsun 1200 GX, while Carel Malherbe tops Class D in his Jetta Mk2. Expect ears to be ringing after Dewald Pretorius and Werner Kotze hit the track in their thunderous Mazda RX7 and R100 rotary specials.

Schedule Highlights:

  • Qualifying: Friday, 13h15
  • Race 1: Friday, 16h10
  • Race 2 & 3: Saturday, 10h00 and 12h00
