LONDON, 8 October 2025 – Collecting Cars, the world’s leading online platform for collector and enthusiast vehicles, has announced a landmark achievement — surpassing £1 billion (US$1.34 billion) in global sales since its founding in 2019. The milestone follows more than 21,000 successful transactions across over 50 countries, reinforcing the platform’s position as the premier global destination for curated automotive auctions.
The news coincides with the launch of the October Sealed Bids auction, the second edition of the company’s newest format, which introduces a trio of exceptionally rare and desirable collector cars: a 2021 Aston Martin V12 Speedster ‘Top Gun Maverick Specification’, a 2009 Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV, and a 1991 Ferrari F40.
A Global Success Story
Founded in 2019, Collecting Cars revolutionised the online auction landscape by offering enthusiasts a transparent, expertly curated, and community-driven platform. Its success has been mirrored by the rapid rise of Watch Collecting, launched in 2021, which has now recorded over £100 million (US$134 million) in sales. Together, the two platforms unite a global network of more than 400,000 registered members, bringing together connoisseurs of fine engineering — whether on four wheels or the wrist.
Since inception, Collecting Cars has sold over 1,800 cars exceeding £100,000, while Watch Collecting has achieved more than 370 watch sales over £50,000. Among the most represented marques on Collecting Cars are Porsche, with more than 3,000 sales — over 2,500 of which have been 911s — followed by BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, and Ferrari, each contributing over 1,000 successful auctions.
The platform has also achieved multiple world-record public sale prices, including:
- £610,000 for a 2000 Subaru Impreza S6 WRC driven by Richard Burns
- HK$4,328,888 for a 2023 Porsche 992 GT3 RS Weissach Pack
- €407,704 for a 1998 Porsche 993 Carrera Cup
Further notable results include £161,000 for a Land Rover Defender 90 Works V8 70th Edition, €183,000 for a BMW E30 M3 Evolution II, and £90,000 for a Renault Clio V6 — underscoring the diversity and depth of Collecting Cars’ appeal.

Sealed Bids: A New Chapter in Collecting Cars’ Growth
Introduced in August 2025, the Sealed Bids format is the latest innovation from The Collecting Group. Designed to offer enhanced privacy, efficiency, and exclusivity, it allows bidders to submit confidential offers on high-value vehicles — a feature particularly suited to blue-chip collectibles and rare exotics.
The first Sealed Bids event achieved exceptional engagement, prompting the launch of this month’s edition, which opens for bidding on 8 October and concludes on 16 October.
October 2025 Sealed Bids Highlights
Aston Martin V12 Speedster ‘Top Gun Maverick Specification’ (2021)
One of just 88 examples ever built, this Aston Martin represents the ultimate in open-top performance and cinematic flair. Created by the marque’s Q by Aston Martin division to celebrate Top Gun: Maverick, it features exclusive film-inspired decals and bespoke helmets housed in the rear buttresses. Powered by a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12, producing 700PS, it has covered just 1,800 km from new and is currently located in Qatar — a true collector’s piece blending Hollywood heritage with handcrafted British engineering.
Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV (2009)
The final and most extreme evolution of Lamborghini’s legendary V12 lineage, the Murciélago SV combines visceral performance with rarity. This UK-market, right-hand-drive example has travelled only 15,000 miles and embodies the marque’s raw, analogue ethos — now increasingly coveted among collectors of modern performance icons.
Ferrari F40 (1991)
A supercar icon, the F40 remains one of Ferrari’s most celebrated creations. This example, delivered new to Germany and showing 27,000 km, retains its original lightweight composite body and twin-turbocharged 2.9-litre V8 engine. With comprehensive service history, refreshed fuel cells, and recent mechanical overhauls, it stands as one of the finest, best-documented examples available today, currently offered from Canada.
The Future of Collecting Cars
With record-breaking results, an expanding global community, and the continued growth of its Sealed Bids format, Collecting Cars is redefining how enthusiasts buy and sell collector vehicles online. By combining digital innovation, deep market expertise, and a passion for craftsmanship, the platform remains at the forefront of a rapidly evolving global collector landscape.
