Heidelberg, Gauteng – South Africa’s famous off-road camper manufacturer is proud to announce a partnership with the new La’t Wiel 4×4 lifestyle and adventure shop, which will be opening in Paarl in the Western Cape. Conqueror’s wide range of proven campers will now be available at two locations in the Western Cape, adding the Boland to the existing Safari Centre at N1 City in Cape Town as the only official Conqueror dealers for the province.
While Conqueror is improving and developing its wide range of renowned and tough off-road campers, the Heidelberg-based manufacturer is pleased to announce that outdoor lovers and camping enthusiasts in the Western Cape and especially the Boland will now have more access to Conqueror’s proven campers. Popular Afrikaans motoring television show La’t Wiel is expanding into the lifestyle world by opening a dedicated 4×4 lifestyle and camping retail outlet near Paarl, and the new La’t Wiel 4×4 shop has been appointed as the second Conqueror agency in the Western Cape.

A Conqueror off-road camper enables people to enjoy the natural beauty that the province offers and our new partnership with La’t Wiel 4×4 will allow more people in the Western Cape to gain access to luxury off-road camping and the associated lifestyle.”
Over the past 18 years, La’t Wiel has become a household name, especially with Afrikaans television viewers. The popular motoring show has broadcast more than 500 episodes since 2004 and the La’t Wiel brand is well-established within the motoring industry. During this time, the show has featured in excess of 2000 different cars, filmed on almost every continent on earth, attended the world’s biggest motorsport events and covered nearly two decades of motoring related news.
“But ultimately, we love the natural beauty our country has to offer, especially here in the Western Cape and the Boland. In the same breath, we are passionate about adventure and outdoor living, so it was a natural progression for us to expand our operations into the outdoor and lifestyle segment with a shop that can serve people that share the same passion as us,” added Waldo van der Waal, La’t Wiel presenter and co-owner of the La’t Wiel 4×4 shop. “For us, a modern and well-equipped off-road camper is the only way to really enjoy the outdoors in great comfort, and when it came to partnering with one of the many options that customers have nowadays, the choice was easy. We had to partner with the market leaders and the brand that is known for building tough and proven campers and that is why we are extremely satisfied to be an official Conqueror dealer, and only the second one in the Western Cape.”
The La’t Wiel 4×4 outdoor and lifestyle centre is officially open and can be found at the Simondium Guild on the R45 between Paarl and Franschoek, right in the middle of the world-renowned Winelands district. The Simondium Guild is fast developing into a popular lifestyle destination in the heart of the Winelands and offers a variety of lifestyle related attractions such as a craft distillery, beer brewer, and restaurant.
“Besides the lifestyle, the shop will serve another purpose,” added co-owner Hannes Visser. “We identified a need to service and maintain existing off-road campers in the Boland area. To address this need, we’ve set up a complete service and fitment centre. With La’t Wiel’s roots deeply cemented in motorsport, we know exactly how important it is to maintain and look after equipment. And to do that, you need expertise.”
The La’t Wiel 4×4 outdoor and lifestyle centre has acquired the services of JP Strydom, a veteran of 6 Dakar Rallies as an official technician for the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing team to head up the service and fitment centre.
