Wolfsburg/Munich, September 7, 2025 – With a powerful display of premieres, cutting-edge technologies, and visionary concepts, the Volkswagen Group has marked its presence at this year’s IAA Mobility in Munich by underlining its role as a global technology leader. The Group’s diverse portfolio – spanning from affordable small EVs to luxury sports cars and advanced autonomous mobility solutions – demonstrates its ability to scale innovation across all segments, setting new benchmarks for the industry.
Electrifying Debuts for a New Era
The Group’s showcase was headlined by two world premieres and a trade fair debut on the eve of IAA Mobility. Leading the charge was the Volkswagen ID. CROSS Concept1, a compact all-electric SUV that joins the “Electric Urban Car Family.” Designed to democratize e-mobility, the model family will launch in 2026 with a starting price of around €25,000 and a range of up to 450 kilometers, making electric mobility accessible to a wider audience.
Alongside Volkswagen, Škoda revealed the Epiq SUV1 in physical form for the first time, while CUPRA and Volkswagen presented camouflaged prototypes of the Raval2 and ID. Polo2 respectively – completing the small EV family that promises to transform entry-level electrification.
Adding to the excitement, Porsche unveiled the new flagship of its legendary 911 series – a seamless blend of tradition and innovation, powered by its groundbreaking T-Hybrid drive. At the same time, Audi provided a glimpse into the brand’s future design philosophy with the striking Concept C1, a minimalist, all-electric roadster combining coupé elegance with open-air freedom.
75 Years of the VW Bus: From T1 to ID. Buzz AD
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles marked the 75th anniversary of the iconic VW Bus – a model that became a symbol of post-war recovery and global cultural freedom – by presenting its evolution from the original T1 to the forward-looking ID. Buzz AD. This autonomous variant, developed in partnership with the Group subsidiary MOIA, represents a complete ecosystem solution for cities and mobility providers, positioning Volkswagen at the forefront of the booming on-demand mobility market. Forecasts estimate this market could be worth between USD 350 and 450 billion in Europe and the US alone by 2035.
Porsche and Audi: Defining Performance and Design
At the Porsche stand, innovation extended beyond the 911 debut. The Cayenne Electric prototype, finished in luminous paint, showcased the pioneering Porsche Wireless Charging system. This market-ready 11 kW inductive charging technology allows for seamless, cable-free home charging, setting a new standard for user convenience.
Meanwhile, Audi’s Concept C1, presented earlier in Milan, introduced Chief Creative Officer Massimo Frascella’s vision for a new design language focused on clarity and essentialism. With a newly developed roof design, the all-electric roadster merges aesthetics with emotion, hinting at the next chapter of Audi’s design evolution.

Scout Returns with Terra™ Concept
The revival of the iconic Scout® brand made waves in Munich with the European debut of the Terra™1 pickup concept, developed specifically for North America. The all-electric model, offering up to 563 kilometers of range, will roll off the production line at a new facility in South Carolina. A variant with a range extender is expected to deliver more than 800 kilometers, underscoring the brand’s importance in Volkswagen’s North American growth strategy.
