GMA T.50s Prototype to Make Goodwood Festival of Speed Debut
Goodwood Festival of Speed’s Supercar Paddock to Feature GMA’s T.50s Niki Lauda Track Car, T.50, and T.33 Supercars Together for the First Time
Gordon Murray Heritage Display to Showcase Milestone Vehicles Ahead of Founder’s 60th Anniversary Celebration
Surrey, UK, 10 July 2024 – Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA), the renowned luxury supercar manufacturer, has announced an extraordinary display of its supercar lineup at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. Headlining this display will be the highly anticipated debut of the exclusive track-only T.50s Niki Lauda prototype.
Taking the spotlight will be the recently acclaimed ‘Best of the Best’, the GMA T.50s Niki Lauda ‘Fan Car’. This uncompromising track-only marvel boasts a kerb weight of under 900 kg and produces an astounding 1200 kg of downforce, thanks to its 1,758 mm-wide delta wing. Its 772 PS engine, capable of revving to an incredible 12,100 rpm, offers an unparalleled driving experience for the owners of this £3.1 million masterpiece (plus local taxes).
Joining the T.50s in the Supercar Paddock will be GMA’s T.50, celebrated as ‘the greatest supercar of all time’. This driver-centric marvel weighs just 997 kg and is powered by the world’s lightest and highest-revving, naturally aspirated road-going V12, which revs to 12,100 rpm (52,000 rpm per second) and delivers 670 PS. With advanced aerodynamics, the T.50 ensures an optimal balance of speed and drivability.
Also featured is the timelessly elegant GMA T.33 coupe. Drawing from the development insights of the T.50, the T.33 stands as a testament to beauty and performance. Inspired by the clean and proportional designs of the 1960s, the T.33 eschews the distinctive fan of the T.50 for a more classic aesthetic. Its graceful exterior achieves aerodynamic efficiency 30% superior to traditional ground-effect supercars while maintaining a streamlined appearance.

This year also marks a special tribute to GMA founder Professor Gordon Murray CBE, with a display from his personal heritage collection in anticipation of his 60th anniversary celebrations in 2025. Hosted at the Goodwood Road Racing Club (GRRC), this display will feature:
- 1956 Maserati Motorbike (52 kg, 50cc two-stroke, 2 bhp): A nostalgic piece from Murray’s youth in South Africa, symbolizing the beginnings of his illustrious journey.
- 1967 IGM Ford (T.1) (440 kg, 1.1-litre four-cylinder, 90 bhp): Murray’s first self-designed and built racing car, showcasing his early engineering ingenuity.
- 1974 Brabham BT44 (T.6) (575 kg, 3.0-litre Cosworth V8, 460 bhp): A significant piece of F1 history, representing Murray’s first Formula 1 victory in 1974.
- T.50 Mule Vehicle – ‘George’: A key development tool for GMA’s supercars, including the T.50 and T.33 Spider, highlighting the meticulous testing and innovation process.
Additionally, the world’s lightest, most driver-focused supercar, the 2020 GMA T.50 (997 kg, 12,100 rpm 3.9-litre Cosworth GMA V12, 670 PS), will be showcased. Named ‘Hypercar of the Year’ by BBC Top Gear in 2023, the T.50 epitomizes the purest and most exhilarating driving experience, setting new benchmarks in the supercar realm.
Phil Lee, Group CEO of GMA, expressed his excitement: “We’re thrilled to present our GMA collection at both the Supercar Paddock and the GRRC. The Festival of Speed offers a fantastic opportunity to connect with our customers and enthusiasts, immersing them in the exceptional atmosphere and performance of our V12 engines.”
