Brescia, 9 January 2025 – The iconic 1000 Miglia winter regularity race is set to make its much-anticipated return from 12 to 16 March 2025, bringing together vintage cars, driving enthusiasts, and fans for a remarkable 930-kilometre journey through the borders of Italy, Switzerland, and Austria. Following last year’s exceptional edition, which was enhanced by the philanthropic The Great Alpine Journey project in support of alpine communities, the 2025 race promises to be an exciting blend of competitive sport, heritage, and breathtaking landscapes. This year, the race will once again be the opening event of the ACI Sport 2025 Italian Major Events Championship, adding further prestige to this historical motorsport tradition.
A Day of Technical Excellence in Brescia
The action begins on Wednesday, 12 March, with the technical and administrative checks in Brescia, famously known as the Città della 1000 Miglia. This vibrant city will serve as the heart of the event, where meticulous preparation takes place for the crews and their classic cars. At 5 p.m. the festivities will kick off in style with the debut of the Città di Brescia Trophy, an exhilarating 1 vs 1 knockout challenge that will captivate spectators and competitors alike. Drawing inspiration from similar challenges seen in other prestigious Red Arrow events, the race will take to the streets of Brescia’s historic city centre for an exhilarating spectacle.
Val Camonica to St. Moritz: A Scenic Opening Leg
Thursday, 13 March, marks the official start of the race. After the flag drops, the competitors will head towards the picturesque Val Camonica, with a midday stop for lunch in the charming town of Tirano. The afternoon route will lead them through the iconic Valtellina region, towards the prestigious locations of the upcoming Olympic Games: Bormio and Livigno. Here, the crews will experience a Time Control in the town centre, providing a brief yet captivating pause in the action, before the stunning scenery of the Alps beckons them onward.
Passing through the Munt la Schera tunnel, the route will then venture into Switzerland, with the first leg of the race concluding in the glamorous resort town of St. Moritz. Known for its exclusivity and stunning Alpine vistas, St. Moritz is the perfect place to unwind and reflect on a remarkable first day of racing.

Exploring the Alps: Austria and Italy’s Majestic Landscapes
Friday, 14 March, will see the race head towards Val Müstair, a region famous for its UNESCO World Heritage-listed Monastero di San Giovanni. Here, participants will compete in a thrilling trial session set against the backdrop of this ancient and serene landmark. Continuing their journey, the race will return to Italy via the Resia Pass and venture into Austria, where the crews will enjoy a well-deserved lunch in the quaint town of Stams.
From there, the cars will continue on to Innsbruck, Austria’s celebrated alpine capital, before making their way back to Italy via the legendary Brenner Pass, culminating the leg in Brixen, a beautiful town nestled in the Dolomites.
The Final Leg: Passes, Snow, and Glory
The final day of the race, Saturday, 16 March, will bring the competitors to some of the most renowned Alpine passes. The Gardena and Pordoi Passes will present exciting challenges for the drivers, with a stop for lunch in the picturesque village of Baselga di Pinè.
The race’s conclusion will be marked by a dramatic finish atop the Tonale Pass, where the spectacular scenery will serve as the perfect backdrop to celebrate the winners. As the finish line is crossed, a thrilling snow driving experience awaits the participants at the Pista Ghiaccio Val di Sole. Here, the Ponte di Legno Trophy will be awarded, adding an element of excitement and camaraderie to the final stretch.

After the thrilling conclusion, the prize-giving ceremony will take place at the magnificent Presena Glacier. This stunning venue will provide the perfect setting to honour the victors of this year’s event.
