On Wednesday, 21st May, H&H Classics will present a truly exceptional selection of ten classic cars from the exclusive ‘Loch Lomond Collection’ at their prestigious ‘Peaks Sale’ at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton, Derbyshire. This private, Scottish-based collection showcases an array of models from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, with each car meticulously chosen by its collector for its outstanding condition, craftsmanship, and timeless appeal.
The total estimated value of the collection exceeds £750,000, with some of the finest examples expected to fetch six-figure sums. The oldest of these gems, a 1950 Healey Silverstone D-Type, will lead the charge, with an estimated value of £120,000-£140,000. A key highlight of the collection, this remarkable Healey has undergone a comprehensive restoration by marque expert Warren Kennedy and has seen minimal use since its rejuvenation. Its eligibility for the Mille Miglia Storica adds a layer of prestige, making it a highly coveted piece for serious collectors.
The star attraction of the sale is a 1953 Bentley R-Type ‘Le Mans’ Style Open Tourer by Paul Forty, which holds the highest estimate at £140,000-£160,000. Built in 2017 by renowned Bentley aficionado Paul Forty, this striking example was displayed as the flagship model at the NEC Classic Motor Show, where it caught the eye of the current vendor. Its stunning design and rarity are sure to draw competitive bids.
Among the other notable lots is a 1960 Jaguar XK150 S 3.8 FHC, one of just 150 right-hand drive examples ever produced. This exceptional car has benefitted from an extensive restoration by Jaguar specialists M&C Wilkinson and is expected to achieve £90,000-£110,000.

Paul Cheetham, motor car specialist at H&H Classics, expressed his excitement: “It’s a pleasure to offer the ‘Loch Lomond Collection’ at our auction in the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton. These ten cars represent the pinnacle of their marques, featuring rare models and exquisitely restored examples. Among them, one has even won concours awards, making it a truly unmissable opportunity for collectors.”
The ‘Loch Lomond Collection’ also includes four other desirable Jaguars, each with its own unique charm. The 1970 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Coupe, estimated at £60,000-£70,000, is described by its owner as the finest driving classic car he has ever experienced. Alongside it, a 1973 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster, one of only 1,872 right-hand drive examples ever made, carries an estimate of £70,000-£80,000. Additionally, a 1952 Jaguar XK120 Roadster, upgraded for vintage rallying, is expected to fetch between £55,000-£65,000, while a 1962 Jaguar MkII 3.8, presented in the stunning Opalescent Dark Green over Cream leather interior, is set to achieve £40,000-£50,000.
