On May 25th, Hampden Park will witness a historic clash as Celtic and Rangers face off in the Scottish Gas Men’s Scottish Cup final. This marks the first Old Firm Scottish Cup final since 2002, the same year Celtic last tasted defeat in the competition’s final.

Isuzu UK proudly sponsors Scotland’s oldest and most prestigious football competition for the second consecutive year, reinforcing its commitment to the sport. This year’s final promises to be a spectacle, with both Celtic and Rangers vying for domestic glory.

The last time these fierce rivals met in the final, Rangers triumphed with a narrow 3-2 victory. Since that loss, Celtic has remarkably won every final they have contested. With both teams hungry for victory, the stakes have never been higher as they aim to etch their names into football history.

The Scottish Cup, first held in 1873, has seen both Celtic and Rangers achieve immense success. Celtic leads with 41 wins, while Rangers follow closely with 34. Their storied rivalry adds an extra layer of excitement to this year’s final.

Rangers secured their place in the final with a 2-0 victory over Hearts, ending a challenging three-game winless streak. Celtic’s path was more dramatic, defeating Aberdeen 6-5 on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw.

George Wallis, Head of Marketing at Isuzu UK, expressed pride in the ongoing partnership with the Scottish FA. “Our collaboration with the Scottish FA reflects our shared values of determination and excellence. Both teams will give their all on the pitch, embodying the uncompromising, authentic, and rugged spirit of the Isuzu D-Max.”

Isuzu UK’s sponsorship of the Scottish Gas Men’s Scottish Cup is part of its broader commitment to supporting domestic football. The Pick-Up Professionals also back the Clearer Water Irish Cup and are the title sponsors of the Isuzu FA Vase & Trophy, promoting the sport at various levels and fostering its growth.

As the final approaches, fans eagerly anticipate a thrilling match that promises to be one for the ages, celebrating the enduring legacy and fierce rivalry of two of Scotland’s most iconic football clubs.
