The MY27 updates to the PV5 Cargo introduce a measured evolution of Kia’s electric commercial offering, refining comfort, usability, and urban practicality across the range while expanding access with a new entry variant.
At the centre of the update is the introduction of the Cargo L1/H1, a more compact configuration designed specifically for dense urban environments where manoeuvrability and efficient space usage are critical.
Measuring 200mm shorter than the L2 model, the L1/H1 still delivers 4.0 cubic metres of usable cargo space, balancing reduced exterior dimensions with strong load-carrying capability.
Powertrain choice remains consistent with the wider line-up, offering a 51.5kWh Standard Range battery with up to 177 miles WLTP and a 71.2kWh Long Range option delivering up to 243 miles, supporting varied fleet requirements.
Despite its smaller footprint, payload capacity increases slightly to a maximum of 800kg in selected configurations, enhancing its appeal for urban delivery and service applications.
The range continues to be structured around ‘Essential’ and ‘Plus’ grades, maintaining a simplified specification approach for fleet buyers while allowing for meaningful equipment differentiation.
MY27 enhancements bring noticeable improvements to driver comfort, including standard lumbar support and a height-adjustable armrest in two-seat configurations, reinforcing Kia’s focus on daily usability in commercial duty cycles.
A redesigned composite bulkhead improves cabin refinement, while a new slimline roof antenna reduces overall vehicle height to below 1.9 metres, improving access to height-restricted urban infrastructure.
Additional features such as Walk Away Lock further enhance day-to-day practicality, supporting fleet security and operational ease.
Pricing for the L1/H1 begins at £27,355 (+VAT), with eligibility for the Government Zero-Emission Van Grant reducing on-the-road costs by £5,000.
Across the wider Kia UK commercial range, MY27 updates continue a steady refinement strategy focused on electrification, adaptability, and operational efficiency.
Optional equipment such as premium paint, additional door configurations, and a heat pump for long-range Plus models allows operators to tailor vehicles to specific use cases without complicating the core product structure.
The PV5 Cargo line continues to evolve as part of Kia’s broader PBV strategy, with further variants including Crew and Chassis models set to expand flexibility across commercial mobility needs.
