The Monaco Grand Prix witnessed an electrifying start as H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and H.S.H. Hereditary Prince Jacques inaugurated the event in the all-new McLaren Artura Spider. This marked the global dynamic debut of McLaren’s first-ever series-production High-Performance Hybrid (HPH) convertible supercar.
Finished in a striking McLaren Orange, the Artura Spider was provided to Prince Albert II at the starting line. Accompanied by Prince Jacques, he drove the Grand Prix circuit, showcasing the exhilarating performance of McLaren’s latest innovation to an enthusiastic crowd.
“We are honoured to have H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and H.S.H. Hereditary Prince Jacques inaugurate the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix behind the wheel of the McLaren Artura Spider. The Monaco circuit holds a cherished place in McLaren’s heritage, which spans over six decades. The Artura Spider encapsulates decades of learnings from racing and automotive innovation which we are excited to share with our customers and fans,” said Michael Leiters, Chief Executive Officer, McLaren Automotive Ltd.
In addition to the Artura Spider’s debut, McLaren also unveiled its new Senna Sempre livery. Displayed for the first time to the public, this bespoke hand-painted livery graced a production McLaren Senna and was showcased at McLaren’s retailer in Monaco. The livery was also featured on the MCL38 Formula 1 cars competing over the weekend.

The Artura Spider introduces significant enhancements in power, performance, and driver engagement. Combining these upgrades with the sensory pleasure of open-top driving, the new Spider adds a remarkable new dimension to the Artura experience. These enhancements have been simultaneously incorporated into the Artura coupe, elevating its next-generation supercar performance.
Both the new Spider and coupe models deliver exceptional dynamic performance, making them equally adept on the circuit and in everyday driving conditions. The near-silent electric drive mode offers an added benefit for urban environments, further showcasing McLaren’s commitment to innovation.
