A new era of in-car convenience is emerging as Parkopedia and SoundHound AI announce an expanded partnership aimed at transforming how drivers find, reserve and pay for parking. By combining Parkopedia’s market-leading global parking data with SoundHound’s advanced in-vehicle voice commerce platform, the two companies are delivering a safer, smarter and more connected driver experience — all powered by natural, hands-free conversation.

A Fully Conversational Parking Experience

The collaboration leverages Parkopedia’s database of more than 90 million parking spaces across 20,000+ cities, integrated directly into SoundHound’s in-car voice commerce ecosystem. Drivers can simply speak to their vehicle to discover nearby parking, compare real-time pricing, check availability and even complete payments — all in seconds, without taking their hands off the wheel.

This technology marks a major leap forward for in-vehicle convenience, using AI-driven responsiveness to anticipate driver needs. The new Parkopedia AI Agent delivers intelligent, proactive recommendations such as suggesting parking close to a destination, flagging real-time congestion or highlighting special offers like “first hour free”, adding meaningful value to everyday journeys.

A Glimpse Into the Driver Experience

The partnership showcases how natural and intuitive the interaction can be. For example:

DRIVER: “Navigate me to Grand Central Market, LA.”
AI VOICE AGENT: “Navigating to Grand Central Market. Parking looks busy at Grand Central Market. Would you like me to find you available parking near your destination?”
DRIVER: “Yes, please.”
AI VOICE AGENT: “There are five parking locations near Grand Central Market. The closest is Nevada Boulevard with availability and a pre-paid payment option. I’ve shown the associated costs on screen, would you like to reserve a spot?”
DRIVER: “Yes, please reserve it.”
AI VOICE AGENT: “Your parking is confirmed and paid, the first hour is free. Navigation is set.”

What once required multiple apps, screens or manual searches is now completed through a simple, seamless conversation.

Removing Friction From the Road Ahead

For Parkopedia, the partnership reinforces its long-standing mission to simplify one of driving’s most notoriously frustrating elements.

“At Parkopedia, our goal has always been to remove friction from parking, a traditionally challenging element that detracts from the driving experience,” said Duncan Licence, Chief Product Officer at Parkopedia. “By integrating our global parking database with SoundHound’s advanced voice AI, we’re making it possible for drivers to seamlessly find, reserve and pay for parking using nothing more than their voice — a major step forward in convenience and safety on the road.”

SoundHound sees the integration as part of a wider vision to bring voice commerce into the mainstream, particularly for in-vehicle transactions where safety is paramount.

“Agentic voice commerce is redefining how drivers interact with their vehicles, allowing them to make hands-free purchases and complete transactions on the go. Parking is a natural next application,” said Michael Zagorsek, COO at SoundHound AI. “Together with Parkopedia, we’re giving drivers a fully conversational, hands-free way to find and pay for parking on the go. It’s part of our broader vision to make everyday in-car tasks effortless, intelligent and connected.”

From Food Ordering to Parking — and Beyond

Voice commerce first debuted at CES 2025, where SoundHound demonstrated in-vehicle food ordering. Now, with Parkopedia on board, the company is extending this capability into essential driving-related services.

The updated platform showcases how conversational AI can streamline everyday tasks, reduce driver distraction and raise the standard for connected vehicle ecosystems. The companies will present the joint solution at CES 2026, inside SoundHound’s booth (West Hall, #5867) at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Beyond parking, SoundHound plans to expand its hands-free voice commerce features into areas such as:

  • restaurant reservations
  • ticket purchasing
  • appointment scheduling
  • additional on-the-go transactions from inside the vehicle

These enhancements build on SoundHound’s established footprint, with its conversational AI already deployed across millions of cars and devices and trusted by major global brands.

Driving the Next Phase of Intelligent Mobility

The evolution of the connected car continues to accelerate, and voice-based commerce is poised to become one of its most transformative pillars. By uniting Parkopedia’s authoritative parking intelligence with SoundHound’s cutting-edge conversational AI, the companies are helping shape a future in which vehicles do more than respond — they anticipate, assist and resolve challenges before the driver even asks.

The result is a driving experience that is safer, smoother and significantly more intuitive, proving that the next wave of automotive innovation won’t just be autonomous — it will be conversational.
