OMODA&JAECOO UK has continued its rapid ascent in the British automotive market, recording 7,152 vehicle registrations in April 2026, according to the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. The result reinforces the brand duo’s momentum less than two years after entering the UK, underpinned by growing consumer confidence and an expanding model line-up that spans multiple powertrain technologies.
April saw a balanced performance across both brands, with OMODA contributing 3,275 registrations and achieving a 2.19% market share, while JAECOO delivered 3,877 registrations and a 2.60% share. Beyond the headline figures, both brands also secured positions within the UK’s top 10 best-selling models for the month, a rare dual achievement in such a competitive landscape. The OMODA 5 ranked sixth with 2,308 units, while the JAECOO 7 followed closely in tenth with 2,099 units, signalling strong product resonance across different buyer segments.
The JAECOO 7 has emerged as one of the standout performers of 2026 so far, climbing to third place in the year-to-date rankings with 17,668 registrations since January. This sustained performance highlights not only strong initial demand but also the model’s ability to maintain momentum in a fast-moving market. Combined, OMODA&JAECOO has now reached 35,113 registrations year-to-date, with OMODA accounting for 12,324 units and JAECOO contributing 22,789 units.
A notable characteristic of the brand’s growth is its healthy retail mix, with approximately 40% of April registrations attributed to private buyers. This indicates strong end-user appeal rather than reliance solely on fleet or channel-driven volume, suggesting that design, technology and value positioning are resonating directly with consumers. At the same time, fleet and mobility channels continue to provide structural support to the overall sales base, helping to stabilise and scale performance across the market.
This growth is supported by a rapidly expanding UK footprint, with 126 retailer locations now operating across Great Britain. The network plays a central role in delivering accessibility and supporting a buying journey that is increasingly digital-first and customer-driven. As expectations evolve around flexibility, financing and aftersales experience, OMODA&JAECOO has positioned its retail model to meet these changing demands with a more seamless and responsive approach.
The current product portfolio also reflects a deliberate strategy of diversification. The OMODA range includes the OMODA 5 across SHS-H, ICE and EV variants, alongside the upcoming OMODA 7 in SHS-P and ICE forms, and the flagship OMODA 9 SHS-P. JAECOO’s line-up spans the JAECOO 5 in SHS-H, ICE and EV formats, the JAECOO 7 across multiple drivetrains including SHS-P, SHS-H and AWD/FWD configurations, and the newly launched JAECOO 8 SHS-P, available in two seating layouts to broaden its appeal.
Commenting on the results, Gary Lan, CEO of OMODA&JAECOO UK, said the performance reflects both product strength and the growing maturity of the brand’s UK operations. He emphasised that continued growth is being driven by strong design, compelling value and an increasingly streamlined customer experience, supported by a committed retail network. With confidence in the brand’s trajectory, he noted that OMODA&JAECOO is well positioned to sustain momentum in a highly competitive and evolving market while continuing to strengthen its presence across the UK.
