London has quietly gained a new contender in the mid-size SUV space as the first customer deliveries of the OMODA 7 SHS-P begin across the UK. It is a moment that shifts the model from showroom promise into everyday reality, placing OMODA’s latest creation onto British roads at a time when drivers are demanding more efficiency, more technology and more refinement without stepping into unattainable price brackets.
Positioned between the compact OMODA 5 and the flagship OMODA 9 SHS-P, the OMODA 7 fills a crucial gap in the brand’s growing UK portfolio. It arrives as a mid-size SUV designed not as an afterthought between segments, but as a deliberate balance of comfort, design clarity and long-distance capability. With pricing starting from £29,915 OTR for the petrol variant and £32,000 OTR for the SHS-P, it enters the market with a competitive stance aimed squarely at mainstream premium buyers.
At the centre of attention is the SHS-P plug-in hybrid system, which blends an 18.3 kWh battery with a 1.5-litre petrol engine. The result is a driving experience that leans heavily toward electric smoothness in urban conditions, while still offering the reassurance of extended range when the journey stretches beyond the city limits. With over 700 miles of total range and up to 56 miles of electric-only driving under WLTP conditions, the OMODA 7 positions itself as a flexible companion for both commuting and long-distance travel.
Fast charging capability adds another layer of practicality, allowing the battery to move from 30 to 80 percent in around 20 minutes. Alongside this, Vehicle-to-Load functionality turns the SUV into a mobile power source, extending its usefulness beyond transport into everyday utility. With CO₂ emissions as low as 23 g/km, efficiency is clearly a central pillar of its design rather than a secondary benefit.
Inside the cabin, the OMODA 7 takes a restrained but modern approach to luxury. The layout is calm and deliberately uncluttered, built around eco-leather surfaces, dual digital displays, SONY audio integration and wireless smartphone connectivity as standard. The effect is a space that feels considered rather than overloaded, designed to reduce distraction while maintaining a sense of sophistication.
Higher trims introduce a more expressive interpretation of comfort. The Noble specification adds six-way electric adjustment for both front occupants, a full-length 1.45-metre panoramic sunroof and an air-conditioning fragrance system, a first for any UK OMODA model. Four-zone voice control further expands interaction within the cabin, reinforcing the vehicle’s focus on intuitive technology that responds to occupants rather than overwhelming them.
The exterior follows OMODA’s “Art in Motion” design philosophy, with aerodynamic surfacing and a poised stance that avoids aggressive styling in favour of controlled presence. It is a design language that prioritises flow and proportion, aiming to feel modern without relying on visual excess.
The arrival of customer deliveries represents a broader milestone for OMODA in the UK. Since launching in 2024, the brand has expanded rapidly, building a retail network of more than 124 dealerships nationwide while steadily introducing new models into its electrified line-up. The OMODA 5 SHS-H earlier in 2026 marked its first full-hybrid offering, and further expansion is already planned with additional models, including the upcoming OMODA 4.
For OMODA UK Managing Director Victor Zhang, the significance of the moment lies not in launch visibility but in real-world adoption. The transition from launch to delivery is where the brand’s identity begins to be tested in daily use, across commutes, road trips and everything in between.
As the first OMODA 7 units settle into British driveways, the model begins its real journey. No longer defined by specifications or launch messaging alone, it now enters the rhythm of everyday driving, where its hybrid efficiency, cabin comfort and design philosophy will be measured not in theory, but in lived experience.
