Nissan South Africa has announced major price reductions across its Magnite turbo range, with savings of up to R40,800, making high-spec compact SUVs more attainable for local buyers. The revised pricing, effective immediately, forms part of the brand’s strategy to deliver greater value and broaden its appeal in the sub-R400,000 market segment, where demand for feature-rich compact SUVs continues to grow.
In addition to the price cuts, Nissan is offering a R10,000 cash rebate on select models for the second quarter of 2025. Commenting on the decision, Maciej Klenkiewicz, Managing Director of Nissan South Africa, said:
“We wanted to align our model pricing to the needs of the local market, giving South African drivers access to higher-spec compact SUVs with exceptional performance and 5-star Global NCAP-rated safety features. We’re confident this will appeal to increasingly price-sensitive buyers, and attract new fans to the exceptional value offered by the Nissan brand.”
Revised pricing on the 1.0T Magnite turbo range is as follows:
- 1.0T Visia MT – reduced by R13,800 to R295,900
- 1.0T Acenta MT – reduced by R10,200 to R329,900
- 1.0T Acenta CVT – reduced by R25,600 to R344,900
- 1.0T Acenta+ CVT – reduced by R40,800 to R369,900

Performance and efficiency
The latest turbocharged Magnite models deliver a significant upgrade in performance, with outputs increasing from 53 kW to 74 kW and torque peaking at 160Nm as low as 2,800rpm. Drivers can choose between a five-speed manual or Nissan’s refined CVT, with fuel consumption rated at 5.27ℓ/100 km (manual) and 6.00ℓ/100 km (CVT), ensuring an effective balance of efficiency and drivability.
Safety benchmark
With the addition of six airbags, advanced electronic stability control, and more than 40 safety features, the Magnite has become the first compact SUV in South Africa to earn a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating under the new testing protocols. Key safety technologies include ISOFIX child seat anchorage, ABS with EBD, hydraulic brake assist, vehicle dynamic control, traction control, hill start assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Looking ahead
Klenkiewicz added that Nissan’s refreshed product offering extends beyond the Magnite, with models such as the Navara Warrior and Stealth, as well as the Magnite Move panel van, further strengthening the brand’s presence in South Africa.
“At these more accessible price-points, and with the added value that comes standard in each vehicle, Nissan is now in a much stronger position to compete in and lead the South African compact SUV market,” he concluded.
