NewRiver and Osprey Charging Network Unveil First EV Rapid Charging Site in Warminster
NewRiver REIT plc (“NewRiver”) and Osprey Charging Network have proudly inaugurated their first EV rapid charging site in the heart of Warminster, marking the beginning of their innovative new partnership.
Situated at NewRiver’s Three Horseshoes Walk Shopping Centre in central Warminster, Wiltshire, this state-of-the-art facility features four rapid EV chargers, compatible with all electric vehicles on the market. These chargers can add up to 100 miles of range in approximately 35 minutes, offering a swift and convenient charging solution for EV drivers. The chargers are user-friendly and support various payment methods, including contactless bank cards, Apple/Google Pay, the Osprey App, RFID cards, and major third-party payment systems, ensuring a seamless experience for all users.
This partnership has the potential to expand significantly, with plans for an additional 31 rapid charging points across NewRiver’s UK-wide retail portfolio. This initiative complements the existing charging infrastructure and enhances the accessibility of EV charging for customers visiting major retail brands such as M&S Food, Boots, and B&M.
Osprey Charging, one of the UK’s leading rapid EV charging networks, and NewRiver, a prominent Real Estate Investment Trust managing a diverse portfolio of community shopping centres and retail parks, are dedicated to sustainability and customer convenience. This collaboration aligns with NewRiver’s ongoing commitment to its sustainability strategy, enhancing the value and future-proofing of their retail locations.

The new charging site at Three Horseshoes Walk Shopping Centre not only improves charging accessibility in Wiltshire but also offers significant benefits to shoppers. With these chargers, visitors can conveniently recharge their vehicles while enjoying the shopping, dining, and entertainment options available in central Warminster.
Andrew Nosworthy, Commercial Director at Osprey Charging, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: “We’re delighted to be working with NewRiver to help future-proof their retail destinations by providing reliable, rapid EV charging for their retailers’ customers. This first charging site in Warminster is part of the re-charging network that will enable the decarbonisation of transport in the UK, and NewRiver’s forward-thinking strategy will ensure they stay ahead of the curve by equipping their retail locations to meet growing EV charging demand.”
This announcement is Osprey’s latest venture in the retail property sector, building on a five-year track record of installing over 200 rapid charge points for portfolio owners such as Ediston, London & Scottish Investments, M7 Real Estate, and Brookhouse Group. Osprey covers all installation and servicing costs for the rapid charging points while sharing the profits, minimizing financial risk for NewRiver.
With access to reliable charging being a key factor in EV adoption, the introduction of more charger locations at busy shopping areas is critical. NewRiver’s popular retail destinations are ideally suited for this purpose, attracting en-route fleet and private drivers as well as local residents and businesses, thereby boosting consumer confidence in choosing electric vehicles.
