Dubai, United Arab Emirates, July 2025 – Kia Corporation has further solidified its reputation as a safety leader in the global automotive landscape, earning three coveted 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)—the most rigorous recognition available from the respected U.S. safety authority. The award-winning models include the all-new 2025 Kia K4 (built after January 2025), the 2025 Kia EV9, and the 2025 Kia Telluride, each demonstrating Kia’s unwavering commitment to protecting occupants and advancing safety technology.

The distinction is particularly notable in light of the IIHS’s tightened evaluation criteria for 2025, which place a greater emphasis on rear occupant safety and nighttime crash prevention. In this environment of heightened scrutiny, Kia’s performance stands out, with each of the three models meeting or exceeding the latest standards in vehicle structure, crashworthiness, and crash avoidance technology.

“At Kia, safety is a foundational pillar of our brand,” said Yaser Shabsogh, Vice President of Commercial Operations at Kia Middle East & Africa. “Being recognised by the IIHS with three TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards under their most rigorous criteria to date is a strong validation of the work we’re doing. We’re continuously raising our safety standards by integrating advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), reinforcing structural integrity, and subjecting our vehicles to stringent internal and external testing protocols. Whether it’s through enhanced protection for rear occupants or technologies that help prevent nighttime collisions, we remain focused on delivering real-world safety benefits to our customers.”

Excellence Through Innovation

The recognition reflects Kia’s holistic approach to vehicle safety—where advanced engineering, intelligent technology, and real-world testing converge to produce results that go far beyond regulatory compliance. Kia’s latest generation of ADAS plays a pivotal role in this achievement. Features such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), and Highway Driving Assist (HDA) contribute not only to crash prevention but also to driver confidence and peace of mind.

In particular, the 2025 Kia K4, a new entrant to the U.S. market, earned its place on the TSP+ list thanks to enhancements made to models built after January 2025—highlighting Kia’s rapid response to evolving safety expectations. Meanwhile, the Kia EV9, the company’s flagship electric SUV, continues to set benchmarks for electrified vehicle safety, combining a bespoke EV platform with cutting-edge structural reinforcements. The Kia Telluride, a consistent favourite in the family SUV category, continues to build on its strong reputation with upgraded passive safety systems and enhanced nighttime visibility technologies.

Real-World Safety for Every Journey

For Kia, safety is more than a product feature—it’s a brand philosophy. As part of its role as a Sustainable Mobility Solutions Provider, Kia is focused on protecting all occupants, regardless of seating position, vehicle segment or drivetrain. This latest IIHS recognition is an endorsement of that mission, reflecting the company’s resolve to bring premium safety standards to mainstream models.

Kia’s ability to meet the IIHS’s elevated benchmarks speaks volumes about the depth of its R&D investments, and the calibre of its engineering and design teams. It also underscores the brand’s foresight in anticipating future safety trends—an essential quality in a rapidly transforming mobility landscape.

A Symbol of Consumer Trust

The IIHS TSP+ rating is among the most trusted indicators of vehicle safety in the North American market. Conducted by an independent nonprofit organisation, the IIHS tests vehicles using a range of stringent crash simulations, structural evaluations, and safety technology assessments. Models that earn TSP+ status are widely regarded as offering the highest levels of protection in their class, making the awards a powerful purchasing consideration for families, fleet operators, and safety-conscious drivers.

By securing three TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards under the institute’s most demanding criteria to date, Kia is not only enhancing the safety of its vehicles, but also elevating consumer confidence in the brand.

With safety standards becoming more stringent and consumer expectations rising in tandem, Kia’s latest achievement serves as a compelling reminder of the brand’s ability to lead where it matters most—in protecting lives and shaping a safer, smarter future for mobility.
