Pretoria, South Africa – 22 October 2025: Jaguar TCS Racing has unveiled its new Jaguar I-TYPE 7 livery ahead of the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, signalling the start of an exciting new chapter for the British marque as it celebrates its milestone tenth season in the all-electric series.
The reveal follows two major announcements that have redefined the team’s direction: the appointment of Ian James as Team Principal and the signing of António Félix da Costa, the 2019/20 Formula E Drivers’ World Champion. Da Costa joins Mitch Evans, who embarks on his tenth consecutive season with Jaguar TCS Racing. Together, the duo represents the most successful pairing in Formula E history, boasting a combined 14 victories.
A Fresh Look for a New Era
The latest iteration of the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 livery continues the team’s evolution of style and performance. Retaining its signature black, white, and gold palette, the design refines the sharp, geometric aesthetic that has become synonymous with Jaguar TCS Racing — a visual representation of precision engineering and forward-thinking innovation.
As the most successful car of the GEN3 Evo era, the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 already holds an impressive record, claiming six wins for Jaguar TCS Racing and an additional victory for customer team Envision Racing during Season 11.
Both Evans and da Costa will test the I-TYPE 7 at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia from 27 October, followed by a Women’s Test at the same venue on 31 October.
Leadership, Line-Up and Legacy
The Valencia test marks the first public appearance of Jaguar TCS Racing’s refreshed leadership and driver line-up. Under the guidance of Ian James, the team enters Season 11 with renewed confidence and momentum after an exceptional 2024/25 campaign that delivered six race wins, five of which came in the closing six rounds. The team finished as runners-up in both the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ World Championships, underscoring its competitive credentials.
“This season marks a fresh chapter for Jaguar TCS Racing,” said Ian James, Team Principal. “With a new driver added to our line-up and the final evolution of GEN3 machinery, we’re entering pre-season testing in Valencia with real momentum and focus. It’s the first step in what we believe will be another fiercely competitive year – and we’re ready to rise to the challenge.”
Evans, who has been with the team since its inception in 2016, expressed enthusiasm for the season ahead:
“I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel and start putting the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 through its paces in Valencia. With the speed we showed at the end of last season and a fresh team dynamic, we’re ready to give it everything.”
For da Costa, the move to Jaguar marks a new opportunity to continue his championship legacy:
“I’m really excited to begin my journey with Jaguar TCS Racing. The team showed incredible pace last season, and Valencia will be an important step to get comfortable with the car. I’ll be pushing hard from day one.”

Proven Performance, Shared Innovation
Jaguar TCS Racing’s on-track technology continues to serve as a testbed for innovation across Jaguar’s next generation of all-electric road cars, previewed by the Jaguar Type 00. Hardware and software advancements honed in competition transfer directly into the brand’s broader electrification strategy.
Strength in Partnership
As the team embarks on its tenth season, it continues to benefit from the support of a strong partner ecosystem. Title and Official Technology Partner Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) remains central to driving data-led innovation and adaptability, while enduring collaborations with Dow, Castrol, Reflo, and Alpinestars deliver technical excellence and sustainable progress across operations.
Jaguar TCS Racing also welcomes Chase as its new Official Financial Services Partner, further reinforcing the team’s commercial and competitive ambitions for the upcoming campaign.
The GEN3 Evo: Engineering the Future
The GEN3 Evo era introduced significant updates across the Formula E grid, including enhanced bodywork, all-wheel-drive capability for qualifying and specific race phases, and Hankook iON tyres designed for improved efficiency and grip.
Jaguar’s I-TYPE 7 embodies this technological evolution. Its advanced rear powertrain features a newly designed inverter, MGU, and transmission, optimised for greater efficiency and balance. A lighter ancillary electrical system and enhanced thermal management improve responsiveness and energy recovery, while a re-engineered rear suspension system provides greater adaptability across diverse circuits.
A Decade of Electric Performance
Since entering Formula E in 2016, Jaguar TCS Racing has competed in 127 races, earning 22 wins, 31 podiums, and 1,638 championship points. As the team approaches its tenth season, its ambition remains clear: to continue leading the charge in electric motorsport while shaping the future of sustainable performance for the Jaguar brand.
