INEOS Automotive has introduced the Grenadier Commercial in the UK, a newly customised 4X4 tailored for VAT benefits and favorable BIK tax rates. This vehicle replaces the two-seat Utility Wagon in the UK lineup and is specifically designed for professionals needing robust utility features. Starting from £51,931 excluding VAT and OTR, the Grenadier Commercial is open for orders beginning 2 May 2024.
Designed with a practical layout, the Grenadier Commercial offers a flat full-length floor and a sturdy cargo barrier behind the front seats, accommodating a standard 1,200mm x 800mm Euro pallet. It boasts a braked towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes, over 2,000 litres of cargo space, and 5.5 tonnes of winching capacity, making it an ideal choice for rigorous professional use.
The vehicle’s design includes unique features for VAT exemption, such as replacement of the rear passenger windows with aluminium panels and blacked-out glazing on the 30:70 split rear doors. Additionally, it has permanently disabled chassis mounting points to preclude the addition of a second row of seats.

George Ratcliffe, Commercial Director at INEOS Automotive, highlighted the swift introduction of the Grenadier Commercial following customer demand since its 2022 launch. He praised the Grenadier platform’s ability to undergo such modifications without compromising its driving dynamics or off-road capabilities.
The Grenadier merges quintessential British design with German engineering precision. It features a durable box-section ladder frame chassis, heavy-duty solid beam axles, and up to three locking differentials, powered by a BMW 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine. This engine setup is specifically tuned for the Grenadier’s rugged demands.
Manufactured in Hambach, France, with conversions carried out in the UK by Pontypool-based EDC Limited, the Grenadier Commercial is a testament to INEOS Automotive’s commitment to versatility and specialized utility. This model follows the Grenadier Quartermaster pick-up, which targets specialist vehicle converters and commercial builders, commencing production later this month.
