H&H has assembled an 86-strong selection of collectors’ cars for its April 19 sale that’s destined to tickle the palate of enthusiasts everywhere; such is the breadth and quality of the lots entered. It is the first of the company’s new ‘Specialist Sales’ and promises to be a memorable event, during which no less than 95 carefully-selected motorcycles will also be on offer in the peerless surroundings of the Imperial War Museum, Duxford.

Among the more valuable entries are:
- 1966 Rolls-Royce Cloud III MPW Drophead Coupe (£220,000-260,000) – a simply stunning example restored at a cost in excess of £100,000
- 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 (£150,000-180,000) – only 68 righthand drive versions were ever made: arguably the most desirable post-war Benz model aside of the mighty 300SL
- 1970 Aston Martin DB6 Mark 2 Vantage (£150,000-180,000) – a genuine 38,800 miles example that’s remained within the same family since new
- 1935 Singer Nine Le Mans ‘Savoye Special’ (£130,000-150,000) – of wonderful provenance including a class win at Le Mans in 1938
- 1936 Jaguar SS100 2.5-Litre (£120,000-140,000) – a delightful and well known car
- 1988 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante X-Pack 6.3 (£120,000-140,000) – rare and very potent
