PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA – In an industry historically dominated by men, Her Way Logistics is turning heads and breaking barriers—literally. This Women’s Month, Kiara Baijnath, founder and director of the trailblazing transport company, marked a milestone by taking delivery of her sixth Mercedes-Benz Actros 2645 from Sandown Commercial Vehicles Centurion, making a bold statement in her signature color: pink.
For Baijnath, the path to the driver’s seat of South Africa’s logistics industry has always been about more than moving goods—it’s about carving out space for women to thrive in transport. Inspired by childhood memories riding alongside her grandfather, a truck driver, Baijnath’s journey into logistics was fueled by adventure, ambition, and a desire to challenge the status quo.
“I’ve always envisioned myself as a girl boss and a thrill seeker,” says Baijnath. “When the opportunity to enter the transport business came up, I grabbed it with full strength. It’s something that’s been close to my heart since I was a little girl.”
Founded in 2024, Her Way Logistics offers comprehensive local and long-haul transport solutions, serving a diverse range of industries and corporate clients. Despite its relative youth, the company has rapidly built a reputation for reliability, professional service, and a customer-centric approach. Its growing fleet, now proudly featuring six Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks, underpins its commitment to operational excellence.

The latest addition to the fleet is more than just a vehicle—it is a statement. The pink Mercedes-Benz Actros 2645 reflects Baijnath’s personal philosophy: strength, visibility, and resilience. “The Actros aligns perfectly with our company’s goals—fuel efficiency, safety, and reliability,” she explains. “And pink? It’s my favorite color. It represents womanhood and strength. There aren’t many women in this industry, and I wanted to make a bold statement.”
Navigating a male-dominated sector comes with its challenges, but Baijnath’s resolve is unwavering. “I’ve been underestimated, but I overcome it by working hard every day and keeping the wheels rolling,” she notes. Her story is a call to action for other women considering a career in logistics: “Step into this field. It’s exciting and full of opportunity. Yes, there will be challenges, but we’ll overcome them with strength. Be yourself, live your dreams, and know that anything is possible.”
Her Way Logistics is more than a transport company—it’s a platform for transformation. Baijnath hopes her example will inspire the next generation of South African women to pursue careers in logistics, showing that the road to success is wide open.
Support from the industry has been resounding. “We are happy to have Kiara as part of the Mercedes-Benz Trucks family and to celebrate this exciting milestone with her as she takes delivery of her sixth Mercedes-Benz Actros,” says Mark Croxon, CEO of Sandown Motor Holdings. “The Actros is more than just a truck; it’s a benchmark of innovation, reliability, and performance. We look forward to seeing Her Way Logistics’ success grow, and we wish them many safe and prosperous kilometers ahead.”
Maretha Gerber, President and Group CEO of Daimler Truck Southern Africa, echoed the sentiment: “I’d like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Kiara Baijnath. At DTSA, we’re inspired by pioneers like Kiara, driving change and opening doors for the next generation of women in logistics. Your determination and vision are truly commendable. We look forward to a strong and growing partnership with Her Way Logistics.”
In pink and in power, Her Way Logistics isn’t just driving trucks—it’s driving a movement, proving that strength, resilience, and ambition know no gender.
