Hampson Auctions is set to ignite the collector car market with an extraordinary selection of classic, performance, and supercars at its first saleroom auction of the year. Taking place at the picturesque Bolesworth Castle on Sunday, 9 March, this highly anticipated event promises an eclectic mix of automotive excellence, with headline-worthy provenance and rare finds that are sure to entice enthusiasts and collectors alike.

A UFC Champion’s Defender and a Hollywood Icon

Among the standout lots is a 2015 Land Rover Defender 110 XS pickup truck, which boasts an unparalleled celebrity connection. This rugged machine, a faithful recreation of the Defenders driven by the villains in the 2015 James Bond film Spectre, was previously owned by none other than double-weight UFC World Champion, Conor McGregor. Further adding to its allure, the vehicle was used to promote McGregor’s ‘Forged’ Irish stout brand. Featuring a striking film-accurate setup—including the signature rope arrangement, roof tray, and roof-mounted 7” spotlight—this Defender is estimated at £60,000-£70,000.

Film buffs will also be drawn to a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback, officially licensed as a Gone in Sixty Seconds ‘Eleanor’ edition. Formerly owned by football legend Thierry Henry, this unmistakable Mustang carries the prestigious official sanction of Gone in Sixty Seconds producer Denise Haliki, complete with her Sharpie-inscribed signature on the dashboard. This Hollywood star commands an estimate of £140,000-£160,000.

A Transformer-Inspired Peterbilt and American Muscle Legends

For fans of the Transformers franchise, a concours-winning 1996 Peterbilt 379 tractor unit—a dead ringer for Optimus Prime in his pre-transformation guise—is set to cross the block. Featuring polished 24” alloy wheels, custom chrome stacks, and a luxurious leather-trimmed cabin complete with a CB radio and a 63” sleeper pod, this mighty machine carries an estimate of £60,000-£70,000.

American muscle enthusiasts will have plenty to choose from, including a stunning 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, a true embodiment of open-top driving pleasure. Having spent much of its life in the sun-drenched state of Florida before being imported to the UK in 2017, this meticulously restored classic is offered at No Reserve. Equally rare is a 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT, a sleek and distinctive fastback coupe finished in metallic red, also going under the hammer at No Reserve.

A second Mustang will also entice bidders—a 1965 GT350 race car, boasting an extensive motorsport history and FIA papers, making it ready for the historic racing circuit (£30,000-£35,000).

Hampson Auctions Kicks Off 2024 With A Star Studded Classic And Supercar Sale At Bolesworth Castle

Supercars, Performance Icons, and Ultra-Rare Collectibles

The auction wouldn’t be complete without a dazzling array of supercars and performance machines. A 1972 De Tomaso Pantera, fusing Italian styling with a muscular Ford V8, is being offered at No Reserve. A modern masterpiece, the 2022 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS, featuring the coveted lightweight pack, is estimated at £70,000-£80,000. Meanwhile, a stunning 2019 Southern GT40 MK1, powered by a high-performance Gurney-Weslake 6.3-litre Ford engine, has barely seen the road, showing just 160 miles since new (£50,000-£55,000).

For those seeking power and practicality, a 2021 Audi RS6 Avant Carbon Vorsprung, boasting a monstrous 803 BHP and a blistering 0-60 time under three seconds, will be offered at No Reserve. Another low-mileage marvel is the 2007 Mercedes CL63 AMG, with an astonishingly low 1,500 warranted miles from new, estimated at £25,000-£30,000.

Classic Collectibles and Barn Finds Galore

Hampson Auctions will also showcase an exciting range of barn finds and meticulously restored classics. Among them is an incredibly rare 1982 BMW 323i barn find, alongside a 1972 Ford Escort that has spent more than 30 years with its current owner. A 1970 Triumph Spitfire MK3, cherished for over four decades by its vendor, is also heading to auction at No Reserve.

From the golden era of Ford Britain, a trio of Escorts has emerged from a private collection, led by a pristine, multiple award-winning 1974 Mk I Mexico, fully restored to concours-winning standard (£60,000-£70,000). Meanwhile, a barn find 1973 Mk 1 Mexico and a 1978 Ford Escort Mk2 1600—both ideal for restoration enthusiasts—will be sold at No Reserve.

Adding a touch of vintage charm, two exquisite Austin Sevens will also take centre stage. A 1934 Austin Seven Nippy, remarkably kept in its previous ownership for an astonishing 87 years and 10 months, carries an estimate of £12,000-£14,000. Meanwhile, a rare and beautifully presented 1931 Austin Seven Ulster, equipped with its original Cozette No.4 supercharger and a notable history that includes a run in the 2022 British Grand Prix parade driven by F1 star Yuki Tsunoda, is estimated at £30,000-£35,000.

Iain Tyrrell’s Exclusive Preview and Upcoming Online Auction

Ahead of the Bolesworth Castle sale, renowned supercar specialist and YouTuber Iain Tyrrell will provide an exclusive preview of the auction on his popular Tyrrell’s Classic Workshop channel on 7 March.

Additionally, Hampson Auctions is now accepting entries for its next Marketplace online timed auction, running from 28 March to 6 April. Following the resounding success of its inaugural online sale, Hampson’s Marketplace auctions offer 24/7 bidding accessibility and continue to support The Joshua Tree charity, dedicated to helping families affected by childhood cancers.
