Bicester Motion, 1st September 2025 – Hagerty International Limited has acquired the renewal rights of specialist classic car insurer Gilbart-Smith Associates, marking an important step in the continued growth of its UK business.
Founded in 1998, Gilbart-Smith Associates has built a strong reputation for delivering a highly personal service to a loyal client base, many of whom own rare and enthusiast vehicles. From 1st September 2025, all policy renewals previously managed by Gilbart-Smith Associates will transition to Hagerty, with Bertie and Emma-Jane Gilbart-Smith supporting the process as consultants for the next twelve months to ensure a seamless client experience.
Hagerty, which has operated globally for more than 40 years and in the UK for nearly two decades, is widely recognised as the country’s leading collector car insurance specialist. The company offers an extensive range of insurance products, enthusiast events, membership programmes and authoritative market data. Its Private Client division is dedicated to providing tailored services to collectors, including expert valuations, bespoke cover, and exclusive lifestyle experiences.
