In a pivotal shift, Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA), the esteemed British luxury car maker, has relocated the production of its flagship T.50 supercar to its expansive new headquarters at Highams Park in Surrey, UK, as of 10 April 2024. This transition not only signifies a major strategic enhancement for the company but also brings T.50 production under the same roof as the Gordon Murray Group’s global operations.
Highams Park, set in the picturesque village of Windlesham, now hosts the entire manufacturing process for the GMA T.50, transferring activities from the previous location at Dunsfold Park. The relocation is part of a broader strategy to optimize manufacturing processes, including the production of carbon fibre monocoques for the T.33 prototypes and upcoming models at Dunsfold Park. These monocoques are crucial for development, testing, and regulatory compliance, and their on-site production is set to streamline the supercar’s journey from conception to road-readiness.
The construction of the new Gordon Murray Group headquarters represents a substantial investment exceeding £50 million, aiming to foster innovation and excellence in supercar production. The Highams Park facility spans 54 acres and is equipped with a 4,300 square metre Vehicle Production Centre and the Gordon Murray Heritage collection. Additionally, it features a Vehicle Dynamics Test Road for the final tweaks and checks before delivery. The site also houses the Driving Perfection Customer Centre, offering a bespoke experience for clients to personalize and collect their GMA supercars.

Phillip Lee, CEO of the Gordon Murray Group, highlighted the significance of the new headquarters as a testament to the company’s ambitious vision for the future. He emphasized the seamless integration of T.50 production at Highams Park, alongside the enhanced production capabilities for the T.33 development prototypes.
The relocation promises to expedite the production of all future GMA models, including the completion of the exclusive T.50 customer cars and the T.50s Niki Lauda track-only models. Subsequently, focus will shift to the T.33 coupe and the forthcoming T.33 Spider, heralding a new era of manufacturing excellence and innovation at the Highams Park centre.
Mofid Elkemiri, CEO of Gordon Murray Automotive, expressed enthusiasm about the accelerated development of the T.33 prototypes, attributing this progress to the strategic relocation of monocoque production to Dunsfold Park. The move is set to enhance efficiency and pave the way for the unveiling of the T.33 prototype to enthusiasts worldwide.
GMA’s commitment to excellence is embodied in the T.33, a masterpiece of design and engineering, weighing just 1,090 kg and powered by a 617 PS 3.9 litre Cosworth GMA.2 V12 engine. Upholding the brand’s core principles, including Driving Perfection and Exclusivity, GMA continues to redefine the supercar experience for its discerning clientele.
