In an era where brand loyalty is often fleeting, one name stands out as a shining example of enduring trust and commitment: Bill Nunn. On April 29th, 2025, Subaru UK & Ireland proudly marked a remarkable milestone as Nunn, one of the marque’s most dedicated customers, took delivery of his 26th Subaru – the all-new 6th generation Forester in Field specification.
It all began three decades ago, in 1995, when Nunn purchased his first Subaru – a Legacy Estate – a car that set the tone for a relationship grounded in quality, capability, and consistency. Since then, he has owned an extraordinary variety of Subaru vehicles, from rugged Legacy and Impreza wagons to several generations of the Forester, including the potent turbocharged XT of the early 2000s. And with each new model, his allegiance to the Japanese marque has only deepened.
Since becoming a Subaru Main Dealer in March 1999, Nunn has remained a loyal customer of Adams Brothers, a fourth-generation family-run dealership in Aylesbury. Known for their unwavering commitment to customer care and traditional service values, the Adams Brothers team has rolled out the red carpet for Nunn with every purchase – and this latest handover was no exception.
“It is a pleasure to take delivery of my new Forester, the 26th Subaru I’ve bought over the past 30 years,” Nunn commented. “The cars have certainly become more modern, capable and spacious, but the core values that set Subaru apart have remained. Subarus are just great cars: always a pleasure to drive, comfortable, reliable and safe. In 30 years covering hundreds of thousands of miles for both work and private use – in all manner of conditions – Subaru has never let me down.”
He also praised the enduring customer experience at Adams Brothers, adding: “The team have always been attentive, honest and trustworthy. They’re a family business filled with friendly, familiar faces. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. I’ll certainly be back for more.”

Dane Adams, Managing Director of Adams Group, reflected on the special relationship: “We’re delighted to have delivered this landmark 26th car to Bill, 30 years on from his first Subaru. We’re proudly a family-run business, one that puts the customer at the centre of all we do. Bill has been the most loyal of Adams’ customers and has become a great friend too. We look forward to continuing this journey with him for many years to come.”
For Subaru, Nunn’s story is more than just a celebration of numbers – it is a powerful endorsement of a brand built on trust, dependability and driver-focused engineering. The company’s reputation for safety, durability and all-weather capability is well earned, with accolades such as topping the 2024 Auto Express Driver Power customer satisfaction survey serving as public affirmation of its commitment to quality.
Alex Sheward, National Sales Manager for Subaru UK & Ireland, paid tribute to the longstanding relationship: “We at Subaru are proud to have a fantastic base of loyal customers across the country – owners that have put their faith in our vehicles over many decades. Bill might just be the most loyal of all. This is a testament to the enduring appeal, quality and reliability of our vehicles, as well as the honest, caring service offered by our dealer network.”
Now part of International Motors Ltd (IML), Subaru UK has been importing vehicles since 1976. Over the years, more than 250,000 cars have been delivered to customers across the UK – many of whom, like Nunn, have become lifelong advocates of the brand.
In a world of fast-changing consumer preferences and shifting allegiances, stories like Bill Nunn’s are increasingly rare – and all the more valuable. As he drives off in his latest Forester, it’s clear that Subaru’s commitment to building cars that go the distance – both literally and emotionally – is still paying dividends.
