Journalists will have a remarkable opportunity to test drive a variety of unique electric vehicles during the SMMT Test Day at UTAC Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire on Thursday, May 23rd.
Newspress is set to showcase an intriguing lineup, offering something different for media professionals. Attendees will have the chance to drive two electric versions of the classic 2CV: a standard model and a van. Both vehicles can be taken for a spin around the Millbrook proving ground. Additionally, an electric London taxi will be available for test drives, providing a diverse driving experience.

The two electric 2CVs are provided by Darren Arthur of the 2CV Shop, while the electric cab is supplied by Alex Howard, CEO of Clipper Automotive. Complementing the lineup, a static display will feature an electrically powered Nissan Bluebird, aptly named the Newbird.
Tim Barfoot, Managing Director of Newspress, expressed his enthusiasm: “We love the SMMT Test Day because it allows us to connect with our users and discuss the industry’s future. Electric vehicles are currently a hot topic in automotive news, so we decided to feature cars that are not only technologically interesting but also offer a unique driving experience. The 2CVs and the Clipper Cab are distinctive, and we hope journalists enjoy testing them out.”
