London, 4 September 2025 – eBay has officially opened entries for its third annual Van Conversion of the Year Awards, celebrating the UK’s most creative, practical, and inspiring DIY van transformations.
From bespoke camper conversions to entrepreneurial mobile businesses, the competition invites van owners of all kinds to showcase their ingenuity. The overall winner will take home a £10,000 cash prize, while individual category winners will each receive £250 worth of eBay coupons.
A Platform for Innovation and Craftsmanship
As the UK’s largest online automotive marketplace for vehicle parts and accessories, eBay continues to champion the DIY community that thrives on its platform. Whether a van has been transformed into a mobile dog-grooming service, a fully equipped camper, or a modern twist on a tradesman’s workhorse, the awards celebrate the creativity and dedication of those who push the boundaries of what a van can be.
“Each year I look forward to seeing the range of conversions that eBay celebrates through its Van Conversion of the Year Awards,” said George Clarke, architect and television presenter, returning once again as head judge. “We’ve had some truly amazing bespoke hobby and business winners, but it’s also fantastic to see the smaller purpose-led tweaks owners make to their vehicles. These niche fittings and additions truly embody the DIY spirit of eBay and what this competition represents.”
Judged by Experts, Celebrated by the Community
Clarke will lead a panel of judges that brings together expertise from across the van conversion and LCV community. Joining him are Abir Tewari, UK Director of Commercial Operations for eBay Parts & Accessories; Mark Cropley, founder of Whitebox Vans and Wildbox Adventure Vehicles; and a leading voice from the UK’s van-life community.

The judging panel will select winners across individual categories before announcing the Van Conversion of the Year 2025 in November.
A Legacy of Remarkable Conversions
Since launching in 2023, the awards have highlighted the extraordinary diversity of the UK’s DIY conversion scene. The inaugural winner, pub owner Paul White, transformed a decommissioned ambulance into the now-legendary mobile bar, the AmBEERlance. Last year’s prize went to Essex DJ Jack Lydon, who built a travelling DJ studio-camper, taking his music across Europe and drawing inspiration from every stop along the way.
Category winners over the years have ranged from a vintage bakery van crafted from a 60-year-old Bedford CA to a minimalist Nissan e-NV200 electric camper, proving that imagination knows no bounds when it comes to van conversions.

Entries are now open and will close at 23:59 on Sunday, 26 October 2025. Winners will be announced in November.
