Drive Software Solutions (DRIVE), the UK based global technology leader in vehicle leasing systems, has appointed Alan Leakey as Development Director.

Alan Leakey, Development Director, Drive Software Solutions

Alan Leakey has a 30 year background building and leading successful complex IT developments, particularly around international banking and finance systems. He has worked at senior project and development manager level for companies including BIS Banking Systems, MISYS IBS, Cerner, GE Healthcare, Maersk Line, and Barclays Wealth.

Talking about his new role, Leakey said: ‘Given the constantly changing competitive environments that our leasing company clients operate in around the world, at DRIVE my team and I will have a major focus on time to market and delivering innovation to customers through highly efficient, responsive rapid development.’

Leakey continues: ‘Given how successful DRIVE has been in bringing efficiencies to major leasing players, both here in the UK and internationally, it is very exciting to be able to help shape future developments by expanding our development team. Having this resource in house at the UK headquarters gives us a level of control and an ability to be responsive to customer needs that just isn’t possible in most software operations.

It is also a real buzz to be involved with a British company that has so much experience and expertise in this area and is expanding by recruiting the brightest graduates and giving them the opportunity to work with the latest Oracle toolsets.’

Commenting on the appointment, DRIVE Managing Director Andrew Burns said: ‘In Alan Leakey DRIVE has recruited a highly effective Development Director who combines people management skills and a truly hands-on understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle from initial roadmap through development and QA to worldwide rollout.

His experience in international software house operations and understanding of the commercial imperatives for the most demanding banking and finance clients will ensure that DRIVE continues to be the very best in the industry.’
