Pretoria, South Africa – Wednesday, 25 June 2025 – In a celebration of legacy, innovation, and unrelenting spirit, Defender has returned for the third consecutive year as the Official Vehicle Partner of the Glastonbury Festival. As thousands descend upon Worthy Farm for the world’s most legendary music event, a fleet of 35 rugged-yet-refined Defenders—including 25 plug-in electric hybrid Defender 110s—will be there to ensure artists, organisers and essential staff move seamlessly across the sprawling 900-acre site.
Built for the Rhythm of Adventure
Whether it’s navigating unmarked trails in the remote wilderness or ferrying headline acts to one of over 100 stages at Glastonbury, Defender continues to define what it means to embrace the unknown. Its spirit of resilience and exploration has found a perfect stage in Glastonbury—a festival where music and adventure collide in unforgettable harmony.
“As Glastonbury’s Official Vehicle Partner for the third year running, we’re proud to continue to support such an iconic British festival that celebrates adventure, exceptional experiences and the spirit of music – values which are at the heart of the Defender community,” says Mark Cameron, Managing Director for Defender. “A fleet of capable, electrified Defenders, built for any challenge, provide reliable, all-terrain mobility to help keep the festival running smoothly, no matter the conditions.”
The Defender 110 plug-in electric hybrids are central to this effort, offering artists a luxurious and sustainable ride powered in part by solar energy harvested on-site from the festival’s own photovoltaic array. Meanwhile, an additional ten Defenders will support festival operations, including two equipped with defibrillators supplied in partnership with the British Red Cross—part of Defender’s broader commitment to purpose-led initiatives.

More Than a Partnership—A Heritage
While Defender’s official partnership is relatively new, the connection between the brand and Glastonbury stretches back over five decades. Land Rovers have been part of the festival’s DNA since its humble beginnings in 1970. Archival photos reveal a Land Rover Series IIA parked on-site during that very first event—a quiet nod to a legacy in the making.
Michael Eavis, founder of the festival, remains an enthusiastic Defender driver. Known affectionately as “The Landy Man of Glastonbury,” Eavis frequently pilots his bright red Defender 90 Anniversary Edition around the festival grounds and the surrounding Worthy Farm, showcasing the deep-rooted relationship between the iconic SUV and the spirit of Glastonbury.
Driving Forward with Purpose and Innovation
The 2025 Glastonbury Festival also highlights Defender’s commitment to blending advanced technology with deeply human experiences. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the OCTA models featuring Body and Soul Seats—a multi-sensory innovation developed in partnership with SUBPAC™ and Coventry University. These seats allow front passengers to physically feel the music, delivering a powerful, immersive soundtrack for any journey—be it through the countryside or to the Pyramid Stage.
It’s a perfect match for Glastonbury’s ethos, which celebrates culture, community, and a deep connection to sound. In this way, Defender not only supports the logistical needs of the festival—it becomes part of its sensory experience.
The Soundtrack to Every Journey
As Glastonbury 2025 kicks off with its usual fanfare, the Defender fleet stands ready—charged, capable, and committed. For the artists chasing applause, the crew ensuring every stage runs like clockwork, and the emergency teams on standby for any moment, Defender offers more than just transport. It delivers confidence, capability, and an enduring sense of adventure.
This partnership isn’t merely functional—it’s foundational. A celebration of British spirit, innovation, and the power of music to move us—physically, emotionally, and now, quite literally, through every note.
