Grosse Pointe, Michigan – August 18, 2025 – Broad Arrow Auctions, a Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY) company, closed its annual flagship Monterey Jet Center Auction with a flourish, setting eight new auction records and solidifying its reputation as a leader in the modern collectible car market. Over two days, August 13–14, the auction achieved $57.4 million in total sales, with 80 percent of lots sold, amid record bidder registration and widespread online engagement.
Topping the sale was a 2005 Maserati MC12 Stradale, which hammered at $5,202,500. The spirited bidding battle between in-room and phone bidders pushed the price far beyond the previous record of $3.8 million, making this MC12 the most valuable modern Maserati ever sold at auction.
“Collectors and industry insiders took notice of the quality and relevance of the cars on offer, which translated to stand-out prices across today’s most in-demand categories,” said Barney Ruprecht, Senior Car Specialist and Vice-President of Auctions for Broad Arrow. “The results reflect the continuing strength of modern collectibles and the generational rotation of the collector car market—a segment we have been pioneering since Broad Arrow’s inception.”
The sale was expertly conducted by auctioneers Lydia Fenet and Thomas Forrester, whose distinct styles energized both in-person and online bidders. Over 16,000 enthusiasts tuned into the live auction on Broad Arrow’s YouTube channel, while millions more watched via Hagerty’s FAST Channel lineup on Samsung TV Plus, Tubi, Amazon Fire TV, and Alexa devices.
