Monterey, California – July 23, 2025 — A spectacular reunion of craftsmanship, performance and design is set to headline this year’s Monterey Jet Center Auction as Broad Arrow Auctions, a Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY) company, presents one of the rarest and most desirable automotive pairings of the 21st century: the Aston Martin DBZ Centenary Collection.

Scheduled for August 13–14, this flagship sale will feature the extraordinarily rare duo of the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation and DBS GT Zagato—two models born from over six decades of collaboration between Aston Martin and legendary Milanese design house, Carrozzeria Zagato. With only 19 pairings ever created and delivered as a set in 2019 at a cost of £6.1 million ($8.1 million), the opportunity to acquire such an offering is almost unheard of.

A Timeless Partnership, Celebrated Anew

First joining forces in the early 1960s, Aston Martin and Zagato have consistently delivered some of the most breathtaking automobiles ever to grace road and track. The DBZ Centenary Collection was created in celebration of Zagato’s 100th anniversary and as a tribute to their enduring partnership with Aston Martin. Crafted by Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell, this collection masterfully bridges the past and the present—pairing a reimagined legend of the 1960s with a cutting-edge modern-day supercar.

DB4 GT Zagato Continuation: Reverence and Revival

At the heart of the offering is chassis no. DB4/GT/0239/L, a DB4 GT Zagato Continuation built as an exacting tribute to the original 1960s track car, but enhanced for the modern collector. Dressed in a luminous Caribbean Pearl exterior with Obsidian Black and Connolly Blue leather upholstery, this continuation model is as much a work of art as it is a feat of engineering. Built over 4,500 hours using traditional coachbuilding techniques, it captures the essence of Aston Martin’s motorsport pedigree.

Under the hood, a 4.7-liter straight-six engine replaces the original 3.7-liter unit, pushing out 390hp—up 76hp from the car it echoes. Complementing the uprated powerplant is a competition-grade, non-synchro four-speed gearbox, heim-jointed suspension, and gleaming silver Borrani wire wheels. Even with its meticulous authenticity, the continuation car features subtle modern touches, such as carbon fiber seats, that elevate both usability and comfort. With only 62 test and delivery miles, it remains effectively brand new.

DBS GT Zagato: Bold, Bespoke and Utterly Modern

Its counterpart is no less breathtaking. The 2020 Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato reimagines the DBS Superleggera with a bold aesthetic and enhanced performance, underscored by Zagato’s distinctive design DNA. Clad in matching Caribbean Blue with a flowing carbon fibre silhouette, the DBS GT Zagato features Zagato’s iconic double-bubble roof and an active carbon-fibre grille comprised of dynamic elements that adjust for airflow.

At its core is a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 delivering a staggering 760hp and 900Nm of torque through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. Inside, it is an opulent blend of technology and bespoke craftsmanship, with Dark Knight monotone leather and headrests embroidered with the Zagato emblem. Among its most innovative features are 3D-printed trim elements, including the £25,000 ($33,000) silver inlay that underlines Aston Martin’s commitment to pushing luxury carmaking into the future.

The Pinnacle of Collectibility

“The Aston Martin DBZ Centenary Collection combines yesteryear with today in a way that is unprecedented in the motoring world,” says Alexander Keck, Car Specialist at Broad Arrow Auctions. “To offer this extraordinary pairing is a privilege, and we expect global interest from serious collectors seeking to acquire a piece of motoring history that will likely never be repeated.”

Offered with a pre-auction estimate of $3,500,000 – $4,500,000, this pairing represents not just a celebration of two iconic brands, but also a convergence of craftsmanship and rarity that places it among the most desirable modern collector car sets ever made.

Monterey Jet Center: A Prestigious Stage

Returning for its fourth year, Broad Arrow’s Monterey Jet Center Auction has become a staple of Monterey Car Week and will feature more than 170 collector cars across a range of eras and marques. Last year’s sale brought in $71.5 million with an impressive 85% sell-through rate, anchored by the sale of a 1997 Porsche 911 GT1 Rennversion at $7,045,000.

The 2025 event promises to raise the bar yet again, with the DBZ Centenary Collection poised to steal the spotlight as a masterclass in design and exclusivity.
