Alpine reinforced its profound motorsport legacy and commitment to one of the UK’s most storied race venues by playing a prominent role at the Goodwood Members Meeting (MM81). This iconic event was highlighted by Alpine as the lead partner, beginning with an exhilarating showcase of the A110 R Le Mans special edition during the event’s 81st session. This track-optimized model represents the pinnacle of automotive engineering, boasting a 0-62 mph sprint time of just 3.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 177 mph, exemplifying its racing DNA.
The exclusive A110 R Le Mans edition, with only 100 units produced globally and just 10 allocated to the UK, saw five of these prestigious vehicles parading at the event. Leading the parade was Gordon Shedden, a renowned British Touring Car Championship star and ardent Alpine enthusiast, who regularly employs a fleet of A110 models for training at Scotland’s challenging Knockhill circuit.
In addition to the thrilling track activities, Alpine showcased the A424_β, a display model of its race car equipped with a robust 3.4-litre V6 turbocharged engine complemented by an electric motor. This hybrid marvel is gearing up for its debut in the elite LMDH Hypercar category at the upcoming 24-hour race in Le Mans this June.

Last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed saw the introduction of Alpine’s A290_β, a visionary concept for the future hot hatch, which made a notable return at this event. Integrating over fifty years of motorsport expertise with sophisticated electric technology, the concept underscores the influential role of racing heritage in designing future vehicles.
The event also provided a platform for thousands of attendees to explore the innovative A290, Alpine’s inaugural fully electric car, poised for a global debut at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Alpine’s lineup at Goodwood was further bolstered by several of the latest A110 models serving as course cars and various iterations of the 1960s A110 Berlinette. These vehicles collectively underscored Alpine’s 60-year legacy and forward-looking vision.
Nic Burnside, the Managing Director of Alpine Cars UK, expressed the synergy between Goodwood and Alpine, noting the shared extensive motorsport history that continues to inspire and evolve. He emphasized how Alpine’s prominence at the Members Meeting connects deeply with enthusiasts, offering them a unique glimpse into how motorsport heritage remains crucial in shaping future automotive technologies.
