Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The all-new 2009 HUMMER H3T will go on sale in the Middle East this November after an extensive testing and validation process designed to illustrate its stamina in various areas of on and off-road performance.

The HUMMER H3T was tested thoroughly to ensure that it would meet the demanding needs of potential Middle East customers and the environment they live in, and that it can, in true HUMMER style, dominate various types of terrain in the region.

The testing was carried out on inner-city roads and highways, in the sandy desert of the United Arab Emirates and the rocky mountains of Oman to simulate all driving conditions across the Middle East.

The engine’s performance was examined in numerous tests designed to make sure it could withstand different driving conditions. Vehicle handling and responsiveness were examined, whilst the fuel systems, air-conditioning and cooling systems, were also tested to make sure they met regional standards.

“It is very important to provide our customers with vehicles that suit their individual needs and requirements,” stated Johnny Amiouni, HUMMER’s Marketing Manager in Middle East. “The H3T is ideal for customers who work hard and play harder.

The H3T retains the HUMMER brand’s DNA, including exceptional off-road capability and a premium interior that is as functional as it is comfortable. We are extremely proud of our validation programme and we are looking forward to launching this outstanding vehicle in November,” added Amiouni.

The H3T is based on the architecture of the popular H3, but features a five-passenger crew cab and a separate 1.5 meters long bed. It is bigger than a midsize double-cab bakkie but smaller than a traditional full-size bakkie, creating its own niche in the market. Regrettably the H3T is only available in left hand drive so will not be coming to South Africa.
